FUT Squad battles difficulty

I am experiencing some weird difficulty scaling when playing squad battles.
When playing on amateur, I have won: 10-1, 6-1, 6-0. 5-0, 7-1.
I notch it up to semi pro. Results: 0-1, 0-0 (lost on pens) 0-0 (lost on pens)

Not only does the opponent get better, but my team seems to get worse; passes not on target, bad first touches etc.

Is anyone else experiencing something like this?

Re: FUT Squad battles difficulty

Squad battles drive me nuts! I try to play on World Class when I can only bumping the difficulty down when the squad I'm up against has a lot of highly rated players, but then it seems like I lose more often...maybe I'm just a bad player lol...idk..

I look at the teams rating carefully and decide before. Usually if they have a higher rated team I avoid playing even pro difficulty because I know it will be very difficult. And you are right the difference between Amateur and Semi-Pro is dumb so I usually just play Amateur because there isn't a huge points difference and I know I will score a ton of goals.

From left to right I go: Legendary, World Class, Professional, Semi-Pro.

Beware of chemistry, if you're facing an opponent who has for example only 50 chemistry, your team will play at 50 chemistry as well.

K so I need to vent...the chemistry thing is really, really, really, irritating. I played a squad tonight on WC rated at a 76...76! My squad is rated 83 chemistry of 100 with such players as Kane, Coutinho, and Fabregas. It was 0-0 draw and I need freakin penalties to beat them. Why? because their chemistry was 60...

The second game I played the squad was rated 78 and the damn game ended 4-4 and I lost in penalties because their GK Navas saved two of my shots...

Maybe I need to take a week off...

A noob question as haven't played FUT mode before... what is "Chemistry" rating and what does it do? Also, how can you increase your team's Chemistry rating?

So chemistry rating can affect how your team performs in game and the bonuses they receive or don't from chemistry role items. If you look at the FUT squad you will see lines connecting the different positisons. Those are chemistry lines.

Red=0 chemistry Orange=partial Green=full chemistry.

Chemistry is boosted by playing players that have things in common such as players from the same team, country, or league.

For example: If my forward is Harry Kane and I play Delle Alli as my CAM they would have full chemistry because they play for the same team, in the same league and are from the same country.

If I played Cesc Fabregas as my CAM he and Kane would only have partial chemistry because they only play in the same league.

Other factors on chemistry are positioning (does the player you put in that position actually have that as their listed position on their card) and loyalty (has that player been in your squad for a certain amount of matches) as I believe your squad manager. If the player is the same league as the manager I believe they get a boost to chemistry as well.

This article does a decent job of explaining it as well.
