JB's Fictional Draft Classes

Hello everyone, I'll be doing fictional draft classes this year. Last year I used the F.D.U draft classes and the way they use the peak start/peak end to generate draft busts/gems is great. I had the most fun I've had in MyLeague thanks to the awesome draft classes they put out. I plan to follow a similary strategy in creating these draft classes.

I've done research on the last 15 NBA drafts to guage how many elite players, star players, starters, role players, bench players should be in each draft class and will have the draft classes that I do be similar to those. I've also looked at the amount of upper and lower classman that enter the draft each year, along with International players and will incorporate that into the draft classes as well.

I'll be putting some updates up within a week for the first draft class.

Re: JB's Fictional Draft Classes

Pre-Season All-American Teams

FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICA

Bryant Andrews, Sophomore, PG, USC
Andrews could’ve been drafted in the first round in last year’s draft but decided to come back to school after the disappointing loss in last year’s March madness tournament. We expect big things from him this year.

Jayson Edwards, Sophomore, SG, Pitt
Edwards is one of the nation’s top two way guards, he shuts down opposing players best wings and scores with the best of them. Look for him to lead Pitt deep into the tournament this year.

Donte Williams, Freshman, SF, Kentucky
Williams, the #1 recruit in the nation will probably be a one-and-done and could likely be the #1 pick in next Aprils draft. Williams is a monster on offense, and can play some defense too. He should have a great year alongside Kentucky’s other top recruits

Austin Matthews, Junior, PF, UNC
Matthews, is an old school low post threat. He can score inside the paint at will, and is the leader of a very well balanced Tar Heel team…he’s an early candidate for player of the year honors and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them crowned the National Champs.

Matt Ferguson, Junior, C, Marquette
Ferguson coming off a sophomore season where he average 16.5 ppg and 10.4 rebounds looks to improve on those numbers and catapult himself into the lottery pick conversation.

SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICA

LeSean Wilson, Freshman, PG, Florida
Wilson, another freshman on this list has excellent ability to penetrate and finish at the rim.

Gregory Brooks, Sophomore, SG, Notre Dame
Brooks was excellent in last years tournament run, and will be the Fighting Irish’s go to scorer this year, expect a bump up from last years 11.7 ppg.

Lance Stephens, Junior, SF, Gonzaga
Stephens is a knock down shooter, with NBA range. Can’t wait to watch him play this season.

Eric Michaels, Junior, PF, Arizona
Michaels is a do-it-all PF for the Wildcats and is the heart of sole of that team.

Neil Hobbs, Senior, C, Villanova
For your own safety, move out of the way when Hobbs is in the paint or be prepared to get posterized.

THIRD TEAM ALL-AMERICA

Omar Donaldson, Senior, PG, Syracuse
He’s a great two way point guard who’s primed for a big year.

Alexander Paul, Sophomore, SG, Butler
Butler guard Paul is an excellent scorer off the dribble.

Malcolm Parks, Sophomore, SF, Michigan St.
Parks is a great two-way playing forward. He’s worked hard on his perimeter game so expect a bump in his 3pt% from last year dismal 27%.

A.J. Thomas, Freshman, PF, Duke
Thomas is a freak athlete, and should excel with Duke shooters opening up the lane for him.

Harold Poole, Sophomore, C, Georgetown
Poole is a savvy mid-range scorer, with the ability to block shots.
