The Lombardi Pursuit: A M18 Career Dynasty

Welcome to my coach dynasty page for Madden 18!

I've always enjoyed posting in the 'How is your franchise going...' threads, but this will be my first Madden in a while were I won't be participating in an online CFM league, so in hopes of playing deep into the mode I think a dynasty page will definitely help out! Plus I've never won the Super Bowl an any Madden EVER! Hence the title.

To begin my Franchise I will be starting off as an offensive coordinator for a team, rather than as a head coach or owner. I figure this will not only help keep my interest, but also add another challenge early on. As the OC I will have limited control over roster moves and have to adapt my gameplan accordingly.

Do well enough and I can find myself as a head coach early on, taking over a struggling team or perhaps the team I start on. Struggle and that HC dream will have to wait a little longer, do bad enough maybe I'll have to change my dream from coach to GM. Who knows, only time will tell!

Here are my settings, if anyone's interested:

Roster - http://forums.operationsports.com/fo...en-17-ps4.html

Gameplay Sliders - http://forums.operationsports.com/fo...-settings.html

XP Sliders - http://forums.operationsports.com/fo...p-sliders.html

Starting point - Preseason Week 4

Enjoy!

Current Season - 2026

Position - Buccaneers HC
Record - 11-5

HC Career Record - 62-66-1

HOUSE RULES

Some house rules I will be going by, not really a firm house rules player, but just some basic one's I try to use:

House Rules
PosPlayerInjury Note
SeasonPractice SquadMust be 50/50 Offense/Defense when playing as an OC
SeasonDepth ChartCan only edit Offensive and Special Teams Depth Charts as an OC
SeasonPracticeCan only attempt play offense once as an OC, as HC will sim both
-----------------------------------------------
GamePuntingCan only adjust power on punts, no use of 'backspin'
GameDefenseAs an OC can watch only, no changing play calls or usering
GameSuper SimOffense only as OC, at any speed. Can play full game or 'Play the Moment' as HC
-----------------------------------------------
RosterScouting and DraftingCan only scout first rank of players, second for 1st rounders and all three for 'top-5' choices
RosterSignings, trades, FAAs OC cpu manages roster movements, as HC can trade using trade block and build week 1 of FA only on players being bid by other teams

Re: The Lombardi Pursuit: A M18 Career Dynasty

John Morton Steps Down

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Just hours following the Jets preseason loss to the Giants, John Morton has relinquished his Offensive Coordinator duties. In a statement made to the press Morton said that the team "lacked a clear vision for the future" and that GM Woody Johnson "has put together a team in clear hopes for a #1 pick." He also mentioned that seeing Bryce Petty go down with a MCL injury, meaning potentially having to designate second-year QB Christian Hackenburg as primary backup, solidified his decision to step down. Ouch.

With such little time before the season opener the Jets didn't have time to search externally for a new Offensive Coordinator, instead they choose to promote Special Teams Coordinator Taylor Johnson. Johnson, who joined the Jets this year after stints in New England and Chicago, will continue to oversee the special teams unit while taking on his new responsibilities.

If the Jets season didn't look like a disaster already, these changes certainly can't help. Will the prophecy of an 0-16 season for the Jets come true? It's looking more probable each and every day.

Who Is This New OC?

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Many Jet fans may not be familiar with new Offensive Coordinator Taylor Johnson. This may be his first OC job in the NFL, but hopefully time as a Special Teams Coordinator in New England and Chicago, as well an assistant for the University of Florida Gators, has given him a chance surround himself with some of the brighter offensive minds in football.

Will will see a touch of McDaniels, Gase, Meyer, or even Mullen in his offense? Maybe a combination or something new? Or maybe the Jets will fall flat like we're all expecting. Who knows, only time will tell!

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The Jets faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles to wrap up their 2017 Preseason. A short week, made even shorter due to a coaching change, saw an uneven performance from the Jets offense. The first team struggled on the ground but was able to together two scoring drives, a B. Powell touchdown run and a chip-shot field goal to start the 2nd quarter. The 2nd and 3rd team offense, both led by Hackenburg, were able to move the ball but had difficulties converting 3rd downs.

The biggest impact of this game came early in the 1st quarter when HB Matt Forte went down with an injury on the opening drive. He was able to walk off the field on what was apparently a knee injury.

After the game HC Todd Bowles was informed that Forte suffered a Grade 2 MCL injury, with a return timetable of 6-10 weeks. With Forte set to miss half of the season it was decided he would be placed on Injured Reserve. Asked if Forte could return during the 2017 season, Bowles said they would "play it by ear."

The Cut
2017

Teams around the league have made their cutdown's to 53. The market is flooded with new free agents and it will only be a matter of time before they find new teams. Below is the Jets' opening day depth chart and its 10-man practice squad:

Orchard Park, NY - The Jets opened the 2017 campaign on the road against the Bills, and came away with a predictable loss. The Bills were able to shut down the Jets run game early and the loss of Robby Anderson to an abdominal injury limited the Jets passing attack.

Meanwhile, LeSean McCoy and the Bills were pounding away on the ground. McCoy would rack up 81 yards on 14 carries before leaving with an injury. 7th-year man Taiwan Jones would step in and continue McCoy's work, collecting 91 yards and 3 scores on 23 carries.

The Jets (0-1) travel to Oakland next week to take on the Raiders.

Oakland, CA - The Jets (0-1) took traveled across the country in Week 2 to face the Raiders (1-0). The Jets' running game was again shut down again, leading rusher Bilal Powell only averaged 2.3 yards per carry. A tight game through three quarters, the Jets defense couldn't stop the Raiders in the 4th as they surrendered two touchdowns. A pick 6 by the Raiders defense sealed the victory.

The Jets move to 0-2 on the season. If early performance is any indicator Jets fans should prepare for a long winter.

The Jets will return Week 3 as they host their home opener against the Dolphins (1-1).
