How to: Not have to USER on D in MUT online

Okay. So, make fun if you wish. I'm OLD. I like to play the game by calling the plays. I just flat out don't user mode the defenders, for example. Or for that matter the RB, WR, etc.

But, it appears at least as set up initially, this isn't possible in 18. Is it? If so, how?

When the ball is snapped, whoever is the "user" highlighted defender just stands there if I don't touch the stick.

I am going to completely guess here and say that your player must require user input on "Competitive mode," so that may be why you're experiencing that situation. Maybe you don't have to user a player on "arcade" or "Simulation" mode? MUT has some games that are arcade and some are competitive; not sure if any are Sim yet.

I would consider investigating the game skill level you chose; when we start the game it asks which skill level you are, beginner, intermediate, etc etc. and each has a description of what the level provides or doesn't; I chose Advanced level to start and I have to control any player in which I highlight pre-snap..

Try lowering your skill level to intermediate and see how that works?

Thanks for that. I tried that (I am on "sim." It still shows online MUT games as "competitive." Maybe there's a way I'm missing to go back to how it's always been but if not, MUT is a goner for me as I can't do the stuff the kids can!

MUT H2H is and will ALWAYS be played on the competitive setting. Nothing you can do to change that.

No bueno. I loved that mode but I guess it is no more for me starting with this version.

This is the first year it has been this way is my point. I'm not arguing what "should or shouldn't" be but just want to know:

a. Is this something we can change to how it has always been before; or
b. If you believe this is how it has always been, then if you know how I can get it to not force user control of a player then please let me know.

It's not the end of the world. I'll just have to find something else to do with my time/money in the game or not in the game if this is just how they decided to make the game.
