World Championship Wrestling, aired it's final episode on March 26, 2001 on Turner Networks, but the ending was different. It ended with Sting and Flair shaking hands before the entire roster came out and celebrated with the fans before the show ended.
World Wrestling Federation reached out to several stars but WCW was still an entity and it was up for sale. Eric Bischoff is frantically trying to buy WCW, but Turner wanted out with Time-Warner telling them no more wrestling will be on their networks. WCW was left with no options. Vince McMahon is trying to low-ball Turner and it almost worked until their was a mystery person who entered the negotiations willing to double Vince McMahon's best offer.
Then in April, commercials started to air in Japan on TV Asahi for Nitro and Thunder. Then in Australia on Ten Network. Many believed WCW was relocating to an international market until FX aired the same commercials for WCW Nitro and Thunder starting at the beginning of May. In Demand started airing a commercial for WCW The Big Bang for the first week of May. It shows Booker T holding the title with Flair/Steiner/Jarrett/Totally Buff/Sting/The Insiders all looking up. Above Booker T you can see a dark outline of a man, deemed to be the new Owner of WCW.
