Draft Class Player Age

I've never been a heavy draft class editor, but trying this year since I didn't buy The Show to fill my summer.

When I'm editing a prospect, how do I ensure that his age is exactly what I want when they hit the draft? I've messed around with birthdays and ages, but I always seem to mess something up. Is there a quick guide out there or a "rule" to set it correctly?

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is put in their age and birthday when you're creating the class. Everything else just works itself out i guess

Sometimes, the age changes from what I set once I get to the Draft. I think it has to do with the birthdate, but haven't had time to mess around and test stuff. I don't get a ton of time to play with little ones running around so was just wondering if someone had a definitive systematic approach.

Well you have to remember that when you download a draft class, you're downloading it at the beginning of a season. So when you download a class at the beginning of a season, a players age might only be 19 when you set his age to 20. By the time he gets drafted he will be 20 years old since the players age just like in real life.

Also, there are some myleague and mygm "rule changes" that might be affecting this too. One of them says players can't enter the draft until they're 21 years old or something like that so if you download a class with an 18 year old, 2k will automatically change his age to 21 because of this rule

I'm actually doing the Start Today feature and starting in the offseason. I figured that when I uploaded the draft class, it'd take into account their age at that time (June) based on their birthday. But players that I thought should be right on are a year younger, and guys I thought might be a year younger are right on. I'm still going through and testing stuff. Thanks for the insight.
