The lack of a REAL NBA 2K TUTORIAL mode is killing the community!

I've been reading many threads about the 2k community being bad and because of the lack of basketball IQ it cause's them to exploit dribble moves and other gameplay mechanics. What 2K needs to do is actually add in a REAL tutorial mode. Don't just show people what button to press, actually put people in real situations. If it's passing on fastbreaks, put people in fastbreak situations where if you make the right pass you earn more points and lose points for making the wrong one's. If it's dribbling, put people in situations where a crossover is needed or a spin move and you have to do it at the right time in order to get pass your defender. Even defense, teach people the fundamentals to basketball and it will show online. If you really want to attract people towards this mode then just give VC rewards for every part you complete and have reward tiers such as Bronze, Silver and Gold. That will make players want to do better in this tutorial mode in order to unlock higher vc rewards or even items. I've seen this implemented so well in other sports games and because basketball is so fast paced it should have been added in. 2KU is literally just throwing people into a 5v5 game and showing you random buttons you can press to do certain things but it's not showing people how to implement them properly or WHEN to implement them. Just take a step back and think about this for a minute... Have you ever learned something on 2K or did you have to go to YOUTUBE to learn how to do something on 2K? When you realize that the majority of the stuff you learned was from YOUTUBE or FORUMS then you can understand why the community is "bad". I love NBA 2K and I love basketball so let's make this game great. Leave your opinions of how the tutorial mode should work down low.

PS: We still need better gameplay mechanics in order for this to work even better.

People aren't going to want to play tutorials especially if they know how to play the game already, unless they add new moves that need further instruction I don't see them doing that, every year there is something exploited no matter what game it is thats never going to change, 2k needs to address the real problems with their games & thats the server and all the patches they put out that are ruining the game

It works for Madden. They have a basic controls explanation, and even go into offensive concepts.

They even tied it into Ultimate Team by giving you some starter packs and it gives you achievement unlocks as well.

If implemented well I would welcome it. But with the inevitability of 2KTV, MyPark events, and the 2k All Star Tournament there probably won't be any space to put something like that in.

I'd rather have them not put it in at all instead of putting in a bare bones tutorial with no rewards.

Ya if they actually put effort into something like that I would try it out but I don't see that happening, everything 2k is doing right now is half assed because they don't have any competition, 2k before live started going downhill were the better games

My dream feature would be something like Street Fighter's Training Stage

Give us a Practice Gym that lets us create a player (a maxed out Sharp Shooter, for example) and take him into the gym to learn his moves, learn plays, learn how to utilize him and play with other archetypes, etc.

It'd need a controller on the bottom right that shows us if we're pressing the buttons correctly.

This would not only teach us how to play each Archetype, it'd help us decide which one we want to make before pouring 1,000 hours of grinding into it.

As it is now, the community has had to pick up the burden of educating itself on the mechanics of this game.

We have an environment where it's hard to find factual, fundamental information on how the mechanics of the game work in relation to user inputs because every youtuber has an opinion and there's no base to work from.

I've noticed that the skill range of the general user in 2K is wide. Some guys can't do anything, some guys can do everything, and most people are in between. This creates a personal curiosity within myself to question whether or not 2K's decision to neglect educating us on the more intricate mechanics of the game is part of a deeper strategy to reward users who put in more time.

They don't educate us for the same reason the announcers were still calling me "Freq" in MyCareer - they don't have time and they're rushing a game out each year.
