Help vs. ultra-aggressive strikers

So I recently faced this guy, apparently he's one of the top ranked UT players

As you can see in the video, all he ever does is walk forward holding block -> 1-2-body kick. It's predictable but I just can't avoid it, and parrying is risky because I'm not used to doing it, and he either does the 1-2 to the head or the body. I can't even hit him with a body kick first because the 1-2 just blows right through it, and I can't backdash it in time either. The only reason I won is because of takedowns, and even then it's a split.

Any tips vs. these kinds of players?

I'd say practice parrying. I'm gonna go hide now.

Eat those strikes with your block, or make him miss. If he misses a kick, do that takedown. He'll eventually know better. Ta1 is a cool dude though.

God I hate the Lead Body Kick. Everyone throws this way too much. It's so goofy.

But it hit stuns like crazy, and with the 1-2s, is just crazy powerful...

I seriously feel like the entire "high level" striking meta is Lead Body kicks, random high-low 1-2s, and then mix in a random left or right Kick. Rinse. Repeat. The striking is so Arcadey its cringey sometimes.

Oi Vey.

Yup it's defintiely cringe worthy most times. I can't stand it tbh. Hopefully GPD saves us from this bad representation of how real striking is in mma. It's definitely not all about combos and parrying.

I understand that this may be the only option even though I hate parries, but because he mixes up high/low it's harder to do than I thought

And if you manage to be successful with movement and counter striking you get berated with messages calling you a runner and how its soo unrealistic.... So annoying lol

yeah, I tend to pick up on patterns and if my opponent is being random I concentrate on head parry.

A head punch parry followed up by a Dominick Cruz style superman jab thing is petty potent.

That dude looks good enough were with that style it will be difficult to beat. I don't play ultimate team but if I did and played against someone like that I would set up some countering perks maybe. Or just go to ground for kneebar reversal or heelhook.
