MLB 17 DD Players in Free Agency, Status

Hi Im wondering for MLB 17 in Diamond Dynasty is there a way to know which players will be taken out of free agency? For example since Cliff Lee did not sign with a team last year or Mark Buehrle would they be removed from the free agents available in MLB 17? Im assuming if the player was on the free agency list and didnt sign with a team at all last year, and they have no team this year would they be gone? Or has the same free agents stuck around in MLB 15 and MLB 16? If a player was on any team last year and does not have a team during the current roster that comes out SCSA would then automatically put them in free agency?

My guess would be that they remain free agents until they've filed their retirement papers with the league, but I don't know this for sure.

Players like Ryan Howard, Shane Victorino, Cliff Lee, etc who are currently "Free Agents" are not considered retired. They should still be in the game.

Being a phils fan, I'd like to see them in game so SDS will come out with their Flashbacks.
