NBA 2K18 Needs a DYNAMIC SEASON, no more fooling around! Please.

No more of this NBA Season Now or Start Today, or whatever it's garbage name is.

Actually, the name isn't all that bad. Except that it isn't current/realistic once you begin to play it.

If you start the season mode "Start Today", you won't get TOMORROW's results in that mode. Example.. you start today, you chose Boston Celtics. Tomorrow Spurs play Indiana Pacers and in that game Kawhi Leonard scores 38 points, in your "Start Today" mode, you won't see Kawhi Leonard score 38 points. It'll become a regular season mode once you start simming or playing your teams games.

Dare I say this, once upon a time, the competition was ONTO something BIG. Something amazing. Mike Wang, Bellulba or whatever your name is on here, I respect you, I think you are an EXTREMELY smart and valuable contributer to NBA 2k... to Basketball gaming in general.

When you had taken your talents to EA for that 1 or 2 years before EA decided to ruin their franchise, you got them to think differently, think realistically.

Now we know, no matter what we try, no matter what and how much we EDIT. We will NOT get realistic stats in My League, My Gm etc, that's just the way NBA 2k is designed.

However, if you create a season/franchise mode where your season plays like it's real life counterpart while you control (one team as an example). We can get realistic story lines and stats that are actually happening around the league in reality.

Hmm, so you're suggesting a feature where you can play alongside the current season? We'll only play with our chosen teams on the days and at the times that our team would be playing in real life? Just asking for clarification because it seems like a good idea if they can get it to work out.
The only problems I think that can come up would be if you're winning with your team in the game but they're losing in real life. How would that impact the playoff race? What if a player from your team gets injured in real life but not in your game?

This pretty much says it all, I don't see how you can have player controlled games while following alongside the real NBA. If they just overwrite whatever you have done with the real world results... why not just play the NBA today mode in start now?

Great idea, I don't think the execution is possible.

I remember that dynamic season EA had with live, it was fun from what I remember but I wonder how many people would actually use this type of franchise today. MyLeague has created an alternate universe where rules can be changed, expansions, re-brands and whatnot. And, hopefully it gets deeper next year with D-Lea...Gatorade League and Euro League connectivity in someway. I mean I have friends who are 3 seasons deep into there franchise. A dynamic franchise with real life stats almost takes control out of your hands or else things can get really wonky. What happens if you missed a week of games and load up your franchise [because it has be a "online" franchise to update daily games/stats] and realized it skipped through that big game you wanted to play. What about trades, how is that going to affect stats?

I think the mode could work for those who just basically want to play, "Play Today" type games dressed up as a franchise. But I wonder how much control you would lose as a GM basically.

I'd prefer the "dynamic dna" that Live had. The ability to update my players in my own franchise based on real life tendencies throughout the season. But at least I can edit them for now.

If you want to play in the current season, play as your fave team in NBA Today every night then?

I guess they could do something weird where everything is from the real NBA Today stats other than the boxscores of the games you yourself play.

It was never meant to work the way you describe it. For me it was pretty clear that it works the way it works.

This is a bad bad bad idea. Because it would serve absolutely 0 purpose. If I play the game then have to deal with whatever real life result.

Dynamic season to me would be the opposition adjusting to their opponents transactions. I.E With GSW signing KD. You saw CLE scrambling around to make their team better to compete with them. That would be a Dynamic characteristic to the season in my opinion. Dynamic just means its going to adjust to the rest of the league as the league continues to push on not reflect a real life scenario.
