Section 1
A. This league will advance every 72 hours or earlier if games finish ahead of schedule.
B. Scheduling Methods: Teams are expected to use the Game Scheduling Thread on discord to schedule their games with opponents.
Users can use other means (such as PSN) to schedule their games only if both teams are aware and certain that the game will be played.
No team should expect another team to contact by any other way but by posting on scheduling thread.
One of the teams is still expected to post the game time that has been agreed upon on scheduling thread.
Roughly put: 24 hours to post availability, 48 hours to schedule and 72 hours to play the game upon each advance.
C. Reliability: If an owner does not show for the scheduled game time, he will be put on auto pilot so the opponent can play the CPU if needed.
No showing a scheduled user game is extremely disrespectful. We all have lives and should respect each other's time. No one deserves to be stood up and disrespected.
D. Absentee Notice: We understand that you all have lives. Just make sure to let us in advance so we know what is going on and we will reserve your team.
Failing to do so may result in being kicked from the league.
E. Qutting: Quitting mid-game will be treated as though you quit from the league.
F. Disconnects: The decision on whether to replay or sim a game in the event of a disconnect will be up the owners involved.
Section 2: Gameplay
A. This is a sim-style league. If it is not done on Sundays, don't do it here. Exploiting the AI will not be tolerated.
B. No Switch: RtC is a sim style no-switch league. Players are not allowed to switch players defensively or offensively to user pick/catch on pass plays while the ball is in the air, but are allowed to user pick or make plays with a player they were in control pre-snap.
Defenders may not be manually repositioned pre-snap. This is to prevent any exploits or nano-blitzing.
C. Use of run commit is banned. Likewise, FB Dive and QB sneak are banned on plays where the yards to go is less than or equal to 2.
D. Play variety is a must. Do not spam curls, drags (especially), corner routes, posts, etc. This takes advantage of the CPU's poor play recognition.
We all have tendencies, but repeatedly running the same plays on 3rd Downs is not acceptable. Custom playbooks are allowed so that you can have the freedom to open up the playbook. Please do so.
E. No-huddle may only be used within the last 2 minutes of the 2nd Quarter by either team. It is not allowed in the 1st or 3rd quarter.
You may use it in the 4th quarter under the following circumstances
Down by 1 score: within 4 minutes
Down by 2 scores: with 7 minutes
Down by 3+ scores: whole quarter
F. On screen passes, throw to the intended receiver of the screen or scramble.
G. Do not run up the score against the CPU or another user. We will be monitoring this.
H. Zig Zag Running/Quick snapping: Do not zig-zag run to take advantage of the AI's poor pursuit ability. Do not bounce inside zone run plays outside. Follow the play design.
No quick snapping before defense is set as it is too easy for offense to take advantage of this. Please allow the defense time to adjust. It should only take a few seconds.
I. You may only use 2 hot routes per play.
J. Do not call any play action pass plays on 3rd down and long (6 yards or more). You can call a PA pass play, but cancel the run fake by hot-routing the RB. (This will count as one of your 2 hot routes per play.)
K: Aiming down on the punt trajectory is banned. Also high short punts are not allowed. They cause the ball to hit off of the returnees helmet for a fumble every time.
Section 3. Player Positions and Editing
Interchangeable Positions: No player is allowed to be put on depth chart that is not his designated position. However there are exceptions to this rule, as follows:
A. Positional Rules & Formation Subs
FB: Eligible to move to HB or TE
TE: Eligible to move to FB or WR
OL: Completely interchangeable
To change to the following positions the player must have these minimum weights. As long as they meet the weight requirement you can move the DL around as you please as well as LB to DE.
4-3 DE: must weigh a minimum of 250 lbs
4-3 DT: must weigh a minimum of 280 lbs
3-4 DE: must weigh a minimum of 290 lbs
3-4 DT: must weigh a minimum of 300 lbs
3-4 OLB: must weigh a minimum of 240 lbs
LB's may not be moved to DT under any circumstance.
MLB/OLB can be interchanged without weight requirement.
CB to FS/SS: CBs must weight 190 lbs and have speed less than or equal to 90
This is only to move players. If you draft a 270 lb 3-4 NT then he is eligible at that position (and so on for other positions)
Section 4: 4th Down Rule and 2-pt rule
A. In the first 3 quarters you can go for it at any time unless you lead by 8 or more points. Additionally, the ball must be past your opponent's 45 yard line and outside your kicker's FG range. Once you cross the 30-35 yard line, you should be attempting a FG on these 4th downs.
You may attempt to convert on any 4th and 1 (or less) unless you lead by 8 or more.
If you are trailing by 2 or more scores in the 4th quarter, you can go for it whenever you wish.
B. Go for 2 when the computer playbook suggests it for you. You may also do it in end-of-game situations- to avoid OT for example.
Section 5: Gameplay Complaints
Any issues should be addressed first with your opponent with a short message. Assume your opponent is following the rules in good faith. If the issue persists, tell a commissioner and we will deal with. Do not publicly post about it and make a scene. Above all, show respect.
Section 6: Roster Management
A. Contracts: First of all, keep it realistic. A good way to do this is to only add or subtract one year from what the players desire. No limit on how long or big contracts can be signed but please remember the longer/bigger the contract the more consequences will come with it especially because of cap penalty.
B. Signing/Resigning:Teams are not allowed to release players just to sign him right back at a discounted price within the same season. Violators will be banned from the league immediately and permanently.
Section C. There will be no waiver wire process unless this becomes an issue.
Section D. Roster Requirement: Roster requirement-53 minimum. No more, no less. NFL teams always carry 53 players.
Section E. Trades
First of all, any deals must be PMed to a commish with convincing reasons then it may be approved by committee before proceeding. Players who are in the first year of new contract are not eligible for trade negotiations. This is to prevent teams to sign a player to a one year deal just to trade them away. Franchise tagged players are eligible for trade negotiations.
We are only allowing 1 in-season trade and 2 offseason trades per user.
