Exporting teams from an offline franchise

After searching, it is my understanding that you cannot export a team from an offline (or connected) franchise in Madden 17. Is this correct?

My roommate and I ran a fantasy draft last night and would prefer to export our two teams rather than go through the franchise mode, but it seems Madden dropped the ball on this. If this is indeed the case, does anyone have any ideas of a work around? Of course, outside of manually making the roster on the PS4. Thanks.
