EA Sports Stats Show FIFA 17 Fans Love The Journey Mode, Do You?

EA announced FIFA 17 The Journey was played at a rate of more than 178,000 matches per hour from September 24, 2016 to October 24, 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, equating to 124 million matches in that month, with Alex Hunter scoring more than 164 million goals over the course of those matches by players in more than 180 countries.

Quote:
The Journey inspires fans to live their story on and off the pitch as Alex Hunter, the Premier League's next rising star. Alex’s story is impacted by performance in matches and decisions made by fans off of the pitch, like selecting which of the twenty Premier League clubs Alex signs with to begin his professional career. With a record 20 League titles, Manchester United has been the fan-favorite with 18% of players selecting the Red Devils. Liverpool FC (11%), Leicester City Football Club (11%), Arsenal (10%), and West Ham United (8%) round out the top five. No matter the club, there’s been no shortage of silverware for Alex Hunter, with fans winning more than 560,000 Premier League titles and more than 1 million FA Cup titles.

More stats on the mode can be seen on the infographic at the official site.

Currently, The Journey mode is available in English with subtitles in several languages. It will be able to be played in French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Mexican Spanish in a title update scheduled to be released this fall.

What do you think of The Journey mode?

Haven't played it and most likely won't. Just not in to "story modes." I wish they would spend more time working on Manager Mode and get it straightened out.

I played for like 10 minutes and decided it wasn't for me. I know a lot will enjoy this mode but I am actually kinda disappointed that it has been successful being that it will get more attention from here on out. Manager mode is long overdue for an overhaul.

I’ve read that your career basically ends after only one season. After that you can play with your character (Hunter?) only in the ultimate team mode.

Is this information correct?
If so, I will never start “The Journey".

Thanks for the answer.

Like I said, I will not spend my precious time for this mode. Simply because I don’t like to build up a soccer player for nothing. Nothing for me, because I don’t play “Ultimate Team”. I’m a single player guy.

I don’t get it. Fifa 17 has a career mode. Why we couldn’t merge the Hunter character into the career mode at the end of the story? At least EA could have done that for the single players.

They've also missed a big opportunity with commercials, billboards and all that stuff. If they do it clever, they could earn big money from that. 2K is on the right track with NBA 2k17. But they also could do more in that category.

an awesome idea, but the fact that it only lasts one season is a major disappointment.
