NHL 17-best team rebuild

I just got NHL 17 here in the Netherlands. I play the off line franchise mode.

My question to you is: Which team do you pick to rebuild or relocate or play with?

I Montreal are my favorites and I do not always want to play with my team.

To do a rebuild the New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs or Buffalo Sabres come to mind. Toronto is out of the question, for obvious reasons. But they have great rebuilding material.

Relocation sounds great. Arizona and Carolina would be nice to do.

Or should I pick Washington to give Ovi his Cup?

What do you think? I am interested what you have to say about this.

Something that could be fun depending on your patience is to rebuild an aging team like the Bruins because they're not terribly good and they're right up against the cap or take a team like Arizona and try to relocate and rebuild. I did Buffalo last year and they just get too good too soon because of all the young talent.

Problem with an NHL 17 rebuild, is finding an actual decent prospect.

Good idea with the Bruins. (But you understand I can't play with those guys as a Habs fan). Arizona relocation also sounds great.

I once blew up the Penguins roster, this was also great to do. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ver-nhl13.html

Ahh I missed the Habs fan part haha but yeah Arizona relocation could be fun them or Carolina because they've both two of the most rumored teams to be at the front of the line if a team does relocate

My candidates:

  • Edmonton = Build around McDavid, Draisaitl, Puljujarvi for forwards. Klefbom, Larsson and Nurse for Defense.
  • Buffalo = Eichel, Okposo, Ryan O'Reilly, Sam Reinhart and Ristolainen are all solid
  • Winnipeg = Schiefele, Laine and Kyle Connor are young phenoms. Also some great vets in Wheeler and Byfuglien.
  • Toronto = Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Morgan Rielly.

I agree. I usually just try and trade away all my picks for existing players

Great choices, but those young guns become good fast and you are a winner in no time. Maybe too fast.
