Playing against CPU Warriors/Transition offense

Does anyone find playing against CPU Warriors or some other fast paced teams extremelly frustrating? What's up with that transition offense? They are just pulling up 80% of offense within 5 seconds of the shot clock. Here below is the example. Please dont mind my offense. With what i have been doing i had 9 shot attempts with 1:05 time of possesion, they had 10 shots (opening attack) and 1:17 time possesion lol.

Sliders are actually 40 - take inside shots, 70 - take close shots, 60 - take mid range, 45 - take 3 point shots.. Or are tendencies doing the damage. I will test with pull up in transition on 0 for all Warriors starting unit and see what happens. At the moment it just feels stupid. No matter what I do on defense they are playing like there is 5 seconds shot clock violation after defensive rebound. Your thoughts?

Wow. That is dumb indeed. lol.

At first I was going to say that maybe because you were taking bad shots it was leaving your defense vulnerable, but there is no excuse for most of the shots they were taking. That is really bad and frankly 2K has seem to regressed big time in the AI department (both offense and defense).

Weird that no one really comments on this stuff. Does anyone else pay any attention to the AI in these games? I've seen several videos where the game is like a chaotic mess that doesn't make any sense in comparison to real NBA basketball.

Re: Playing against CPU Warriors/Transition offense

Transition Offense sucks for the CPU because more times than not, no matter who it is, they'll pull up for 3 even if you give them a clear lane to the basket.

And by clear, I mean no one in front or to the side of you OR if the CPU has an advantage on fastbreak, they'll still pull up for 3.

Its just frustrating to say the least. You just cant stop them doing that, that is the problem. After i missed my shot with Paul I immediately sprinted back and started guarding Curry but still... Curry pull up in transition tendency is 50, but that shouldn't mean he has to pull up in every other transition semi-opportunity. Transition offense/pace is just insane and is at the moment with out of the box tendencies/sliders unplayable.

If anyone can stop them under 100 with 12 minutes quarter and default HOF sliders please post here.

I'd be interested to see a proper video as evidence. One without you jacking up shots from 30 ft on every possession. We all know that typically leaves your transition defense scattered, and especially against players like Durant and Curry who are known to "hunt" for the three point shot, it's not the best way to demonstrate your point. Based on the video several of their shot attempts came when you were scrambling to cover them, as in not in good defensive position to contest. The only exception is the Klay Thompson shot.

Do I think the CPU hunts for the three a little too much this year? Yes I do. I think a dev said it as well. Getting the game to mimic real life isn't easy. We want Curry to pull up when given a sliver of daylight just like real Curry but we don't want it in all situations. That's hard to account for and maybe it is heavy handed this year but I think it can be lived with.

Roster edits help to a degree, for sure, but there's more to it than that. The hot potato passing thing happens a lot also when you shut them down on defense. They just spam laser guided 80mph passes until there's 1 second left and it inevitably gets chucked. Even with roster edits there's nothing that truly prevents either, leading me to believe that freelance offenses may be the culprit. I doubt it's actual plays because each team basically spams same play over and over again for the most part, and that doesn't really have a lot to do with fastbreak/transition.

Bingo. You're not giving Griffin and Jordan, two of the best rebounders in the game, time to set and crash the boards for you. The Warriors are a lot of things, and undersized is one of them.

Not only that, you aren't giving their defense time to set. If they aren't on your guys, then you shooting it that early means your guys aren't on their guys when the shift occurs. Now granted, that was a little extreme, but the defense is scattered and not set, and a good amount of those shots were open. Slowing the pace of the game down will help immensely, because the best transition defense is shooting a high percentage.

Again, not making excuses for this game, believe me, go read the impressions thread and I've given this game the lambasting it deserves. But I'm not sure this is enough evidence for me to be convinced.
