28 years of Madden and the players STILL can't recover fumbles

I know I know, another thread whining about something? Don't we have enough of these already?? Well yes, but I wanted to bring this up specifically because it just cost me a huge TD and the fumble recovery "attempt" itself is ridiculous enough to share with you guys:

I'm playing Denver in the AFC Championship in my offline CFM. The score is tied 7-7 and this fumble would have been HUGE to get. FIVE players get to the ball and none of them recover it. Instead, you see what happens. And then Denver immediately scores off a huge run the very next play to take the lead. Needless to say, I raged.

Now, things like this do happen IRL when players try to recover fumbles - I get that. But not to this extent and not this often. This very problem has plagued this game for years and it just never seems to be resolved. Any time there is a fumble, I have to cross my fingers and hope we recover it because I have no confidence that the players on my team can actually recover it. I try my best to steer them to the ball or dive on it, but it doesn't register or they just fly right by it.

I have no idea if there is a "real" fix for this, I just wanted to vent a bit and share that ridiculously unlucky play that just happened to me lol.

I find it strange when someone picks up a fumble untouched and the play is then dead without advancing the ball.

I'm just happy to see that some other position besides QB can and will fumble in this game.

You're right though...I never seem to get them either.

to be honest i see this happen very rarely, almost as often as it happens in real life (players running into eachother while going for the fumble and so they both miss it). it does look really sloppy in the game though.

Fumble recoverises are a coinflip. You cant really be too mad about not getting one. Id be more mad about losing focus and giving up the big td run. After that first fumble Id think ok lets force another one.

It always seems like the play is called a fumble, yet at the same time the computer thinks it's a incomplete pass. I've only had it happen with the QB myself.

I've always played it as though (on PS4) triangle or square (while pointing at the ball with the left stick) are the "get it" buttons. I've never felt as though I didn't have a legitimate chance at picking up a fumble.
