Just a thought for kicks

I was thinking about trying to separate teams to there college teams. Example Panthers all Gamecocks, Dolphins all Hurricanes. Has someone already tried this and do you think possible to fulfill teams?

There arent 22 players from 32 dif colleges let alone 53.

Maybe do it by conference or region.

Re: Just a thought for kicks

I did something similar in Franchise mode.
I basically did it by state / region.

For instance Atlanta Falcons had players from Georgia, GTech, Ga Southern, etc...

I gave the Jets Ole Miss, Miss State, Memphis, and other colleges around Memphis & Mississippi to fill out the rosters. Then relocated ASAP to be the Memphis Hounds. I also relocate the Vikings to SL City to be the Utah schools and a couple other relocations.

But like I said that was in Franchise mode, so I could just do a 32 team user controlled fantasy draft to do it (with Sal cap turned off) because got into cap and penalty issues trying to do it outside of Franchise.

I have a spreadsheet of how the teams turned out if you are interested in seeing that.

I've done a similar franchise but based on birthplace/hometown so Dolphins are all Miami born, Rams are LA born, etc. Some teams are from multiple states like Cardinals (Arizona, NMexico, Utah, Colorado). Texas had enough players for three teams (Texans, Cowboys and Broncos). Had to manipulate some positions like QB and K since certain regions had none of these but 90% of players are on their birthplace teams. Definitely have to do it without salary cap because the Dolphins and Rams are loaded. Starting a 32 team franchise to see how it plays out.
