I finally set up some NHL 17 sliders using my scale of (0/12/25/37/50/62/75/87/100). This keeps me from slideritus, kind of.

Post some thoughts, feedback, etc if you try them out.

Updated the Full Sim Based 8/10 Minute Period Sliders 4/26/17

I went back to my original scale above (for most part). After finding a glitch in the saving process, it made me wonder what changes I made that didn't stick then while playing.

So far, so good. These a tad faster than the averaged out sliders and a tad sloppier it seems.

If anyone try's them post some feedback.

Updated the Full Sim Based 8/10 Minute Period Sliders 1/1/17

Another update. I made some changes towards some of the main slider differences between competitive and full sim default sets. Please see post #17, link below.

The changes are also marked below with a "*".

Why some of these changes? It seemed that a decent amount of guys were having great games on competitive as well as full sim defaults. So I played some myself with minor changes to the CPU shot and CPU pass acc. Great games on both sets, but on competitive the game felt more fluid, players attacked the puck more etc. Full sim felt kind of laid back if that makes any sense.

But playing on default always make me want to change some things. So i decided to make my slider changes from the competitive base slider set. Played games and it felt like it did on full sim with changes. No difference in "feel" between sets once making adjustments to that base.

So with that link above I went and looked at all the differences between the two sets. It's not a lot, but enough to make an on ice feel difference.

Example, guys were upset at just losing the puck, see skating impact. The sliders they were using combined with puck control made it easy to lose the puck by just skating with the left stick. Competitive its on 0, Full Sim 45, I went middle ground at 23.

The other main difference in players attacking the puck was player acceleration. With this on 65 (which is default competitive) the players were attacking the puck, or at least it seemed like it to me. I was using 37 and even just 50 before.

I made similar middle ground changes on most of the slider differences between the two sets.

These small changes gave me a solid middle ground between competitive and full sim.

Give this a shot, keep your current sliders in general but make some or all of these changes to those sliders posted in the link above. Go right in the middle or as close as you can and let me know what you think.

I'm having a blast, hope this helps some of you do the same.


Updated the Full Sim Based 8/10 Minute Period Sliders 12/18/16

Some updates. I strayed away from the scale I use for some sliders to get some back to default and some other small adjustments. Nothing major.

I'm now back to playing my home games on All Star and road games on Superstar. Why? I find it tough with skill level and even sliders to have games where I dominate and also get dominated. Sliders tend to have every game kind of feel the game. Using the Pens I want to have those games where I just take it to the CPU no matter what they do at times. I still lose games if I'm not on point as well. On the road I want the home team to bring it and make me play a solid game from start the finish to earn the 2 points. This might not be for everyone but this has given me a breathe of fresh air while playing in franchise mode and even offline.

I moved all the skating sliders back to default 50 for the most part. Pass Assist back to default 30. Puck Control back to default 20. Why? This brings back the default skating feel, ice friction I guess. CPU and HUM AI players seem to play much better and are not all over the place, more system oriented? I dunno, but it feels great. One thing with this, the CPU AI Learning plays a huge role in game speed. If you move this slider down or up you may have to adjust the Game Speed Slider down or up a click as well.

Penalties, I got back and forth with them on 3 and 4. Find your happy medium with this. This all depends on how you play the game.

Post some feedback and let me know how it goes. I've been having some great games and now have that "feel" back!

Made some adjustments, nothing major.

The games are not as sloppy gameplay wise as a few sets out already. But IMO these are a nice blend of sloppy and what the online full sim preset should be.

I tested these out. Now, my issue could be because I'm a position lock player. But one would think that should not matter.

My observations are:

CPU scores at will and from anywhere on the ice. I was Pittsburgh playing against NYI and the Isles were killing me 3-1 end of the first. Even though their goalie was an 86 rating, he played like an all star. Easy goals let in.

My team hardly got a powerplay. First game, CPU had 5 PowerPlays before the end of the 2nd, I had 1. Next game, they had about 5 again to my zero.

As much as this game plays better than last year, it still feels like it takes more steps back. Pro favors the HUM and All Star favors the CPU. Doesn't seem to be that even setting anymore.

So any suggestions, I welcome them!

Hey Steven, not sure man. LOL. I've had some frustrating games myself, but IMO go and turn AI Learning down from 6 to 0. Maybe that will help you.

I've actually found a solid "feel" to the game with this test set. Now I'm just trying to nail down the shot totals (57/60 combined). I'm pretty close, just some more tinkering. If I start seeing too many goals, easy fix will be to raise some goalie sliders a tad and boom, done.

I know everyone plays different, these would be more of a default EA feel with a side of Fiddy. Making that pre set full sim play how it should out of the box.

For me to play through a season and a half again this year I need a 5/6 minute slider set. I will use the opening night roster they release and go from there. No waiting on this or that, just start and go.

I'll post them within the next day or two.
