What does this setting mean in Options in NBA 2k17? . There are 3 sliders for it. Cant remember what they are called , but the setting is called Pass Target Profile.

Re: Pass Target Profile

Yea I just seen it:

Pass target direction, pass target distance, and pass target openness.

It explains it but does not really go into detail. It has to do with how each section is weighted. The default setting is 55, 40, 5. Hopefully one of the Devs can explain it or we just may need to do some testing.

Re: Pass Target Profile

Directional pass targeting is very complex. Some people are often way more off with their left stick aiming than they think. Others want the system to be more "intelligent" and bias toward open teammates. The new sliders give you the ability to set the weighting exactly the way you want.

Direction = how much we weight the literal direction of where you're pointing the left stick

Openness = how much we weight the openness of the receivers in the general vicinity of where you're pointing (you'd want this higher to always get the roll man for example)

Distance = how much we weight toward always picking the closer teammates. this is good if you tend to get unwanted skip passes

Re: Pass Target Profile

Does anybody have any custom settings that they are liking that they want to share?

I had everything on default and it was bad I'd point one way and it'd go the opposite or I'd try to hit the roll guy and it goes complete the other way. I read the above but still don't know how much to tweak what.

Re: Pass Target Profile

Don't put distance and openness on 100, I can't even throw long passes, it goes right past the guy on the break or even someone close 80% of the time. I put it back on openness default but it always passes to someone that isn't 100% open very annoying.

Re: Pass Target Profile

I'm a point forward, right now I use:

Direction 80
Distance 25
Openness 0

I don't trust the game to figure out how open someone is over me, so I put it at 0.

I still don't know if I like my setting for direction or distance, though. What is everyone using? What do you think the best setting would be for a passer (especially if I like to use flashy passes and lobs)?
