Are injuries a problem?

First let me say I love the game this year so far and I've been a 2k fan since the Sega Dreamcast. That said I have played to game so far one as the classic Rockets team with Yao and he got a broken nose in a play now game. I could deal with that because Yao was injury prone. Next game I started a GM career and Hayward suffered a broken ankle out 8-10 weeks.

I played these games on default pro difficulty. Should I adjust the injury slider and if so does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Are injuries a problem?

I'm bumping this thread because I have been experiencing the same thing.

I've started four or five MYGMS with the Lakers. The first game we played is vs the Rockets and every time I've played each of these games, Harden or Gordon get hurt and are out quite a bit

One time , Harden got a torn Achilles in the first game and was out for 8 months.

In one of myGMS , Anthony Davis broke his foot and was out for the season. It was just the first game of the year as well.

Basically , all the superstars are getting hurt.

Re: Are injuries a problem?

I'm 14 games into MyGM, there are a few injuries league wide but nothing that would be considered unrealistic. I had Dirk on my expansion team miss a single game for a muscle pull, he could have played but going by his "wear & tear" age and such, I just sat him to prevent further injury.

Holy crap, injuries... are there too many?

So I'll start off by saying that I've played four full games now, and lost people to injury in every single one. Mostly minor stuff, so not a huge deal. Crap happens. It is a bit frustrating that for the 2nd straight year, my players keep hurting ankles after shooting a jumper, but eh, it happens.

My big concern is what happened in my first game of my Bulls MyGM. In the first quarter I had Robin Lopez go down for 1 to 2 weeks with a sprained ankle. No big deal... I don't like him anyway. Then D Wade takes a shot to the face. Out for the game. Rondo goes down a bit later for 2 to 4 weeks... and then Jimmy Butler gets hurt and will miss at least two months.

Four of my five starters injured in the first game of MyGM. I know I have bad luck... but wow. Just wow. Needless to say, despite winning, I shut the Xbox off without saving. I'm cool with an injury or two... but playing my first few weeks without at least two of my best players on an already crappy team? Nah.

Anyone else have crazy injury stories? Are you seeing too many, not enough, or just right?

Injuries are definitely annoying - they can likely tone it down. Can't we also tone it down through settings?.

Re: Are injuries a problem?

I've also seen an injury on my first game so after like 3 years without seeing a single one I almost cried from happiness.

Please 2k , don't nerf injuries ever again. Most teams always have at least 1 or 2 players with injury problems basically at all times.

Re: Are injuries a problem?

Injuries are part of the game, but not at this rate. I have injuries every single game. Not on a contested layups, dunks or rebounds in traffic. No, no, no! Wide open jumpshots. At this rate, when the actual NBA season starts, I expect Steph Curry be injured about five times in the first game, because this game is a simulation.

Once in this simulation, I saw Harden injure his left ankle. It was a minor sprain, so he didn't leave the floor. On the next offensive play after the injury, I'm not kidding, he broke his other ankle. Too bad he didn't stay in a game. He could crawl on the hardwood and scream: "I still have some limbs and joints left!"

As for the sliders, more specifically injury frequency, it doesn't work. I have set it to 1, nothing changed, then to 100, no effect at all.

Re: Are injuries a problem?

I've played 20 regular season games and 4 playoff games in MyLeague and I've had no injuries at all, not to my players or the opponent's...

I have the injuries on 50 default.
