Can you play with injured players in Play Now

For example Teddy Bridgewater has a season ending injury in real life.

I put him 1st on the depth chart with the new rosters but it only allows the backup to play.

Is there a way to use him in play now? I know you can use him in franchise.

I just did this with RG3 and it let him play in play now and he's on the IR in real life.

And just did a play now game with vikings and I put Bridgewater #1 and he's playing.

That doesn't work when I do that. Odd must be some setting I have turned on or off.

Doesn't work for me either. I put Bridgewater and AD in as starters for USER and I put in Kaep and Bowman in for CPU. None of them were in the game. They actually showed Brdigewater during the INTRO scene walking on, but after picking first play, it was Bradford and McKinnon on the field.

You should be able to in offline "Play Now", i.e. user against AI.

Go to Settings/Customize section on the far right. Click on it and select the option to manage or customize rosters. Then select the manage/order depth chart option and put your desired player in the starting lineup.

I've been playing with Dion Lewis throughout as I've selected him as the backup HB/RB behind Blount and am able to put him in on passing downs.
