Survivor 33: Millennials vs Gen X

Yes, it's a cheesy gimmick season again which will probably be abandoned after episode 3 or something when the castaways "drop their buffs" and switch tribes, rendering the name of the season basically useless at that point.

It's the second season to film on Fiji(first obviously being Survivor Fiji).

Starts on September 21st at the usual 8pm timeslot, and will be a 90 minute episode. Don't know if it counts as a spoiler since it's being mentioned everywhere, but a major event happened on Day 2 which has never happened on Survivor before(which I already knew it never happened before, but I'm surprised it hadn't before this season).

I'm already looking forward to next season more than this one after hearing the spoilers about next season.

I'm newer to survivor just started watching last season (watched season 1 and I think 2 back in the day then stopped for no reason) care to spoiler tag and share what happened day 2 and what you've heard about next season.

Not looking forward to this gimmick but I'll watch still.

I dunno why they bother with these gimmicks anymore. Like Majingir said earlier, after a few weeks the tribes will be dismantled and the gimmick will be deemed pointless anyway.

If you've only seen S1-2, last year and then this upcoming one too, there's lots of past ones you really should see. 1 & 2 are great for their own reasons, but nothing like Survivor years after that. Game has evolved so much over the years/seasons, especially compared to S1 when nobody except Richard really knew how to play the game(since S1 was more about Survival than it was about playing a strategic game of Survivor)

As for what happens on Day 2, and what next season will be:
Spoiler

Ya, it's real pointless to even do these gimmicks when after a few weeks, the gimmicks aren't even around. 4 of past 5 "gimmick" seasons had tribe switchups after the 4th or 5th tribal.

Funny enough, I watched Exile Island season over the summer(and still upset Terry didn't win/even make it to finals. Think now more than ever that he's one of,if not the, best player to never win). On that season, they literally abandoned the twist(younger men vs younger women vs older men vs older women) after the first tribal!

Nice, yeah I will probably go back and watch the past seasons, I have CBS All Access and I'm currently watching all the old seasons of Big Brother, Survivor will be next. So far I watched season 2 and am currently going through 3, interesting to see how much the game has changed over the years.

The easy thing about watching seasons is that each one is just 14 episodes. Sure, it's 30+ seasons you have to watch, but if there's a season or so you want to skip, feel free to do so.

Obviously everyone has their own opinion on which seasons were good/bad, but if I had to recommend to someone which seasons of Survivor to watch, I'd say:
1,2,3,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14,16,18,19,20,23,25,26, 27,28,31

lol ya, majority of them I'd recommend, but it's around a quarter of the seasons I'd say to not watch,so that's probably around 150+ episodes less to watch if you even bother with my suggestion.

Re: Survivor 33: Millennials vs Gen X

My pre-game cast assessment:
Quote:
Cece-doesn't stand out as a notable player in good or bad way
Chris-could last awhile by not getting in people's way and just being in that provider role at camp
Zeke-personality wise he'll probably use that to his advantage to connect with people, but i could see him voted out as "collateral damage" when trying to get out a bigger target
Taylor-might be one of better people in this cast. could do good in comps and not rub peole the wrong way.
Rachel-doesnt seem so interesting, and probably an early boot
Jay-could do well in the game, but from more of a villainous type of role. he gives off that villain vibe slightly.
Jessica-should do well at tribe life and challenges, but don't know how serious she'll play the game, meaning she might just be happy to take in the experience over play the game
Hannah-could basically be Aubry 2.0 from last season lol
Bret-the cop guy on survivor. somehow i feel like he could get too bossy at times in early part of game
Adam-could be one of those people who sits back for awhile in the game and then makes big moves later on
David-might be one of the funnier people on season, could see him lasting long
Fggy-one of better females at comps, but don't know how she'll connect with others/has abit of a louder possibly offsetting personality
Ken-gives off one of the better player vibes who could go far in the game
Lucy-maybe being a floater who ends up being a number for someone
Mari-one of the more stereotypical "millennials" of the cast. probably on show more cause of her youtube following
Michaela-as long as she doesn't have a loud mouth/off-putting personality, she could do well
Michelle- quieter personality, but the religous person of season, ironically though, shes gonna lie to everyone about her bf so she can flirt with guys if needed.
Paul-the crazy guy on the season, people on island will probably either love him or hate him, more likely hate if he doesnt stop talking
Sunday-probably on the show more to prove to herself she can survive in the game more than caring about playing/winning
Will-youngest player in survivor history, still in high school. could see him being similar to carter from Philippines season
F3 guess: David,Ken,Hannah

I've missed several seasons (or stopped watching early), but my favorite seasons are Pearl Island, Vanuatu, Cook Island, China, Fans vs Favorites 1, Samoa, Heroes vs Villains, Phillipines, Cagayan, and Second Chance.
