TNF Opener: Carolina Panthers @ Denver Broncos

53 man rosters are set, 4 days until kickoff.

I'll be at the game, in enemy territory, going hard for Carolina. I feel really good about this game, but I felt really good about the Super Bowl, too.

It's been funny hearing most of Denver sports radio convince themselves that Trevor Siemian is a good QB, while touting Paxton Lynch as the next big thing. I'm assuming Carolina keys on the run early, while giving whoever is on Sanders some extra safety help. The advantage that Denver has in the WR/CB matchups, I think will be negated by the inexperience of Siemian.

Offensively, I think the gameplan will be much improved from the Super Bowl. I would assume that Von is doubled every play with either TE or HB help, or a major line slide to account for him.

I'm going with a 21-10 Panther win. LEGGO!!

I think Carolina wins this one in a pretty low scoring affair.

I have heard some of our radio guys here in Denver say they think it will be the same score as the SB and I just don't see that happening again.

Should be a good learning opportunity for Siemian

I am really hoping that Jeff Heuerman is ready to go for this game. I think he can be a difference maker for the Broncos at TE.

I've got Carolina by 3. I'd say it'd be 17-14 something like that.

One thing I will say, as far as what Jr. mentioned in the OP, is that unlike many of my fellow citizens of Denver, I do NOT think that Siemian is a "good QB." I agree with Jr, I think we, as a community, have looked at the QB situation with "Orange and Blue colored glasses" a little bit.

I think Sieman has a pretty low ceiling, and I think Lynch isn't close to being ready. I also think that while we have 3 good/solid RBs, we just don't have an o-line that scares anybody. I am sure Kubiak is going to try to pound the rock but we will see what the Panthers front 7 has to say about that.

I am just hoping that all Sieman has to do is Not Suck, make a play here or there, and our defense will be able to keep us in every game.

I'm very interested in seeing how our offense will look, especially Cam. He was great last year in not forcing the ball into coverage...hopefully he keeps that up. I'm also curious to see how our DBs look with both Peanut and Josh Normal gone.

Side note: interesting that Jr. is in Denver but roots for Carolina. I'm guessing you're in the substantial minority up there?

Re: TNF Opener: Carolina Panthers @ Denver Broncos

I must be the only one in the minority that think the Broncos win this game tomorrow night. Denver's defense manhandled the very same Offensive Line that will be starting again tomorrow night. Panthers didn't do anything to upgrade their OL in the offseason surprisingly and I can see history repeating itself. Also James Bradberry and Daryl Worley are two rookie corners that are being asked to cover Thomas and Sanders.

Gary Kubiak likes to run the ball more so than run so while I do think they take some shots to rattle the rookie corners, they will rely on CJ Anderson more to protect Trevor in his first game.

Panthers 10
Broncos 28
