NFL Rookies and Draft Rookies.

I am very unsatisfied with some of the trends I am seeing with rookies in a couple of aspects.

I dont like that I can go into the very first draft of a CFM and immediately find a better QB than any of the QBs in the past 5 real NFL drafts. Winston/Mariota/Wentz/Goff/Lynch/etc. are all trash compared to QBs you can pull straight out of the first draft with 80+ ratings including superstar dev... It is disappointing to me that it is much better to trash one of the recent bigtime QB rookies because they arent worth investing time in when they are so easily replaced..

Now, my problem with the Madden rookies... they are just numbers on a spread sheet. They have no real backstories and nothing to make you feel interested or invested in keeping them forever. I can replace key positions in every draft basically. I can recycle 80+ superstar qbs and super fast wr's and trucking HBs in every single draft and not miss a beat.

I miss the days of Leon Sandcastle and that massively bad *** MLB Lester, etc.

There are back stories. Just as good as they have always been. For the one Leon Sandcastle, I could name a 1000 different John Johnson's.

I do agree about the QBs. Far too many 80-85 studs over a few different CFMs.

Equally an issue might be how many mid/high 70's there are in each draft at all positions. Taking this year's rookie class as an example, there's always a drop off into the low 70's after the studs.

Yeah, thank goodness we can edit them.

I gave every rookie from the current class a +5 awareness boost which gave most of them about a +2 boost overall, and plan to edit and limit the generated rookies.

Re: NFL Rookies and Draft Rookies.

I'm considering dropping the overalls over drafted qbs and Wrs based upon what rd they are taken, 1 point for round 1, 2 points for rd 2 and so on.

Reports are in 10 years there are wayyyyy too many 80s qbs and Wrs.

I dont even know who John Johnson is, or do you mean something like John Smith or John Doe?

I even go into the news section and just don't get interested.
Maybe it helped in Madden 25 that you couldn't help but go past the news regularly so you didnt miss any stories building up in college players.

Re: NFL Rookies and Draft Rookies.

It has been easier to develop draft class qb's too easy for a long time. It has eemed that eve. Ryan draft class the last five years has had 4th and later round picks you could get over 90 in two years. Of course, there were more 9o+ qb's than teams.
