Fantasy Franchise Progress

As armorandsword set up for MLB the show, I figured it would be a nice thread to have for fellow fantasy nuts to post there results / progress for fantasy drafts.

I myself just picked up madden and will be conducting my fantasy franchise shortly. I will be using the Rams.

Results of the draft will be posted - all games will be played to include preseason for me.

Hope some of you guys participate, the show thread was a great success!

I did an offline fantasy draft late last night. Set up 32 team control for the first 3 rounds. I drafted each teams real life QB and their 2 next best players. That way teams are somewhat recognizable. Then for all the remaining rounds, I just drafted for my team only and the cpu drafted for the other 31 teams. It turned out awesome. I will post my roster when I get home from work later (too many players, I forgot who all I drafted). I think doing it this way may actually keep me from restarting my franchise every week

Draft Recap

Owner Stan Kroenke was successful in bringing football back to Los Angeles, and has now entrusted his new General Manager - Joe Smith, with the reigns. Commissioner Goodell has announced a first ever draft of all NFL players - which wound up turning more than a few heads throughout the league and the fan base.

The Rams started the draft way back, with the 29th overall pick, and selected FS Harrison Smith to lead the defense. The second pick for the Rams addressed the offense with TE Greg Olsen. From there on, the rams focused on the offensive line.

OUTLOOK

The Rams are an interesting bunch for sure. Harrison Smith & Kam Chancellor look to provide LA with the leagues premier safety duo's. Alex Smith should be able to keep the chains moving with Greg Olsen, Torrey Smith & Rashad Jennings as his primary targets. The offensive line has to be considered the best in the NFL, but the same cannot be said for the defensive line. The front 7 looks to be a major weakness, with CB and WR depth a close second.

Rams Win 30-14 Against Dallas

Prior to opening the preseason, owner Stan Kroenke fired Jeff Fisher. When asked about the decision, Kroenke stated "New GM, New City, New Roster....New Coach just made sense". The Rams new coach, Demetrius Turner, signed to a 1 year prove it deal - will run a base 4-3 and looks to bring a balanced attack on the offensive side of the ball.

Position Battles

Coleman proved reliable while running the ball, as Donald Brown never really got a chance to shine. Brown did catch a screen pass and turn it into a 17 yd td. Starter Rashad Jennings did nothing against the Cowboys 1st team defense.

how was the CPU draft AI? were there steals still on the board in late rounds?

Pretty decent surprisingly. The "steals" as in higher rated around round 40-50 are old guys like Newman. I was able to pick up Dion Jordan pretty late and some guys I personally felt were "steals" but we're honestly more of "projects".
