Flying Through the Big Apple - RoundingThird's New York Jets (M17)

Vikings head coach Sam Freday's life is looking decidedly on the upswing. This could perhaps be summed up by the present humid spring afternoon in Minneapolis. This day found Freday out on the balcony of his high rise apartment, reading the Sports Illustrated boasting him as the best coach of the future. He has a glorious view of the recently completed U.S. Bank Stadium, his team’s luxurious new home. The future of the Vikings' new, dynamic players look bright as well. Though the Vikings had lost in the playoffs to the Seattle Seahawks after only reaching the Divisional Round, but he had established himself as a coach capable of running a stout defense, after years of having notoriously porous defenses in his 4 seasons with the Bowling Green State University Falcons and 2 seasons with the Cleveland Browns. His defense was the key to the Vikings’ success, after his quarterback Teddy Bridgewater missed the middle half of the season after going all out in a game against the Chicago Bears. His absence brought the offense down a notch, emphasizing the importance of a strong defense.

Suddenly, Coach Freday's phone rang. He looked down, and saw it was a 212 area code, symbolizing the city of New York. League headquarters? Possibly. He answered it. It was Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets. He noticed Coach Freday’s improved skill sets, but reminded him that he was still an offensive guru. Coach Freday could tell where this was going, and he didn’t like it one bit. But then the inevitable happened. Mr. Johnson had a radical idea, and the only way it could work was if he got cooperation and support for both parties. Everyone around the NFL knew how strong the Jets’ defense was under the reigns of head coach Todd Bowles in his first year on the job. So Mr. Johnson was thinking. Coach Freday had plenty of experience running a football team, and had a certain way of getting things done. Plus, in his older age, Woody was getting tired of running the day to day operations of the team. Thus, an idea was born. Why not have Freday come in as the new team president? He would oversee everything that had to do with the team over the course of the season. Coach Bowles, GM Mike Maccagnan, and the entire coaching staff would stay in place, while Coach Freday would become an assistant and helper to ownership. Coach Freday was completely blown off course by this offer. The Jets were his hometown team, the team he grew up rooting for. As much as he loved Minnesota, and as excited as he was to move into a new stadium, this was a once in a lifetime offer that only a fool would pass up. He thanked Mr. Johnson for the offer, and graciously accepted. He was so excited he couldn’t sleep that night. He was coming home! The next morning, he hopped on a plane, and was greeted by a limousine at the La Guardia runway. He was escorted to Florham Park, New York, home of the Jets facilities, where his dreams officially came true.

That’s how it all goes down. This season, I’m rolling with my Jets, the first time I’ve ever used my favorite team for a CFM as long as I’ve been playing Madden, which is about 12 years now. I’m so excited for this. I will keep Todd Bowles as head coach, and be playing in Owner Mode, as Sam Freday, the fictional figure that is strongly based on my real person. This isn’t meant to be a rebuilding project, just a man chronicling his journey with his favorite team to anyone that wishes to follow along. Based on the Jets roster, and 2015 record, it should be expected that this not be a rebuilding project. This will be unlike anything I’ve ever done on OS in the past. I strongly feel that I will have more fun playing this CFM than I’ve ever had playing a video game, and I hope to have you share this journey with me, as I celebrate what may very well be my last year posting dynasties on this site, as it is now my senior year of high school.

As always, don't post until I give the all clear!

Good write up, keep it going. I'm interested how you will use Mo Wilkerson as I went to HS with him

I appreciate it, man! Thanks for following! You can expect Mo to have a HUGE role on this defense, which IRL should be very good. We'll see how good they are with my custom sliders.

I could've sworn you said the same thing, word for word, in my Vikings chronicles from last year. At any rate, as long as my CAC keeps getting promoted, it'll be a pleasure having you on board here.
