Matchmaking now based on OVR

Hey guys,

As promised, we revamped matchmaking a bit to focus more on finding opponents with similar OVRs. It's still a complicated thing, so don't expect it to be perfect right off the bat.

Let me know here how your matches are looking:

• How long do you have to wait for a match?
• Do you match up frequently against opponents of similar OVR?
• Do you match up frequently against opponents in a similar division?
• Do you match up frequently against opponents of similar skill?
• Are you able to complete a Title chase and get the championship belt?
• How is the lag in your matches?
• Are you facing the same people over and over?

I might not reply, but I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and we'll make adjustments to the matchmaking logic if necessary

This is a very touchy subject so will be interesting to hear what everyone says.

On on hand...I think MM should *primarily* be based upon your SKILL and RECORD. Not your OVR.

*BUT* --- there's no real reason for an OVR 80 in Division 5 to match up with an OVR 97 in Division 7 or 8.....

even if they both have 80%+ win rates and are 'somewhat even' when it comes to true skill....that 15+ point difference is killer.

And yes I was the guy with OVR 80 fighting the OVR 97 last night

Nothing better than beating those guys with that huge stat discrepency!!!

But also, not much worse than losing to a guy you know you're better than, just b/c he has full stats and you don't (especially on the ground)

But very happy to see you all are working on improving MM from many angles at once. I'm optimistic!!

P.S. from my experience in the past, the worst MM takes place in WBW division....especially when you're fighting for a title. Probably b/c WBW has lowest # of fighters (just a guess) --- and fighting for a title limits the pool even further.

For the last 30mns I can't find an opponent on my MW or HW

Make that any of my fighters... But Ranked isn't an issue..

My 94 overall in division 7 just matched up with a 73 overall in division 4. Don't know how to feel about this.

Least you're getting matches... I have a 91 86 83 some 80s and a 78 and instantly says no openents available

Still can't find an opponent... This is garbage, I don't know if it's just me or if everyone is having issues but I can't find a game with any of my fighters in UT..

I feel horrible for all the lower overall guys ,now when match making screws them so does EA by giving them a whopping 50-60 coins after getting beat down....

Who would play this mode if you are starting out or newer? 9-12k for a special pack to upgrade moves , you could play all weekend and unless You're win rates in upper 70% You may not even be able to afford 1 pack now


Imagine if fifa was like that , wouldn't happen
