Re: 8/8 - 8/21 Game Discussion Thread

I want 30 games over .500. Then I want 100 wins. Then a title. I don't feel that I'm being too greedy over my Cubbies.

The Cubs are off today and then take a 7-game winning streak and new 28-games-over-.500 high water mark into a 10-game homestand. The LA Mike Trouts, the Cardinals, and the Brewers are on the agenda.

A series win over St. Louis would basically be the knockout punch for the division (currently an 11.5 game lead). However, the last time these clubs met, the Cardinals swept and that sent the Cubs on a midseason swoon. It'll probably be a hard fought series as the Cardinals get up for the Cubs like no other team (cough...the Braves...cough). Cubs-Cards will meet 2 more times in September as well.

Sox return home for 6 games against the Yanks and Diamondbacks. A poor home stand against those two just might put an end to any hope I have of them making the playoffs. I hate to be so down on the team since before the year all I asked was for them to be in the discussion come August, but they have driven me crazy lately. Ugh.

Cardinals fans, I'm thinking about doing a hitters stack today, Piscotty, Pham, Holliday, and Carpenter, although he is supposedly (DTD)

Any advice on anybody, or anybody else hot that I'm missing?

Re: 8/8 - 8/21 Game Discussion Thread

August has not been kind to the Cardinals who are currently 2-4 and losing a series vs the Braves and at the Reds. Next up is 3 at home, where we have struggled, against the Reds. Hopefully we can turn things around with a series victory and stay in the fight for the 2nd wildcard.

Jays got to get their bats going damnit! Let's not waste this great pitching. Here's hoping that coming back home will allow them to find their groove again.

I just want a starter that can give us a quality start at the moment.
