Do a lot of you guys make it through 3+ season in franchise?

I'm just wondering how long in real time it takes you guys to get through that many seasons and franchise and how you keep from getting bored.

Re: Do a lot of you guys make it through 3+ season in franchise?

I personally love baseball right down to the smell of the grass and played all my life. So there are a number of things that keep me going especially with the addition of stat tracking.

I use a created player lock SS and have been building up his stats since MLB 14. While there are a number of gamplay options that got removed in this years game. Which I relied on heavily for my character. I try to look passed it even though difficult to do so and have fun trying to keep my average up and stealing bases. So that's what keeps me motivated. I'll peak in on next years game but I doubt I will buy it considering the direction the game is turning into.

Currently running a carryover that's in year 8 that started in MLB14.

Part of how I keep it going is creating storylines for my players and I enjoy watching prospects develop and trying to get the "next generation" up to the majors to keep the organization strong.

I also enjoy playing with them at the majors and seeing how (or if) they pan out and just how the path goes.

I get attached to my draftees and come to enjoy the fictionals at least as much as the irl veterans that are still kicking around and the irl prospects that have either blossomed or faded out.

I also have a fantasy draft franchise currently about half way through year 2. I have one kid I can't wait to play with that I drafted. A storyline for him is his hype and how he's expected to take the team (maybe even league) by storm. He has a couple highly developed skills, especially for an 19-year-old, but he's also got some "quirks" that might cause problems. So that will be a big part of year 3 in that franchise, not to mention the other kids and what else is going on with the team.

I opened up to simming more and that's been the key. I'm in year 4 (2019) with the Padres after making it to 2019 with the Twins. I did sim quite a bit but it hasn't taken away as much as I thought it would.

Are you using a fantasy roster and if so what's the name of it. Also, if you made a franchise writeup about that fantasy team id like to read about it!

The fantasy Red Sox was drafted using OSFMv2 (the most current when it came out, they are up to 4 or something now I think)

I don't have a dedicated thread - but I update it in the Fantasy Franchise Progress Thread now and then.

Re: Do a lot of you guys make it through 3+ season in franchise?

Every year, I try to and every year it seems I never do. The issue for me is, I love in-depth teams. So, I'll wait for a roster, play. But, then another roster comes out and I want to start over. I wish they could make real minor league players but I understand why they can't. Maybe somewhere down the road, it will change but I doubt it.

If you could import players during a franchise, that would be amazing and I'd get through many many more seasons.

This. I just dont see how people do it after awhile with all the fictionals.
