Can someone breakdown the benefits of DD to me?

OK, so i've never really dealt with DD. I'm a franchise player, and after games I'm constantly collecting players. I've never done any buying or selling in the market, and have accumulated the following team through free login packs and game bonuses:

C- Sal Perez (Gold, 85)
1B - Joey Votto (Gold, 98)
2B - Daniel Murphy (Gold, 93)
3B - Kyle Seager (Gold, 91)
SS - Xander Bogaerts (Platinum, 95)
LF - Starling Marte (Gold, 88)
CF - Joc Pederson (Bronze, 80)
RF - Mark Trumbo (Silver, 87)

SP - Jon Lester (Gold, 94)
SP - Rich Hill (Gold, 93)
SP - Jose Quintana (Gold, 89)
SP - Carlos Martinez (Silver, 88)
SP - Jeff Samardzija (84)

Is this a desirable squad? I have a hard time believing it is anything to write home about based on receiving the team as free items for playing games.

Can someone explain the community market and the purpose of that? Should I be trying to move some of these guys for different guys? I've read through the forum, but haven't picked much up as everyone seems pretty "in the know" (and thus, not many explanations) on alot of this stuff. Thanks

WOW!!! You are lucky!! I was just like you. This is the first year I've gotten into DD. Those cards are awesome! Those ratings are from inside edge though. Anything 93 or higher is Diamond. 92-85 is gold. 84-78 is silver and 77-69 is bronze. Inside edge is an assessment of what each player is going against that day. So when you see the little arrows, those are his adjusted ratings only for that day. The bigger number on the actual card is his in game rating.

DD has conquest which is like risk and I love that mode. You can assemble the best team you have or try to get certain cards through the missions. You should look up a video all about it on youtube. It will be able to explain it better than me typing it all here. If you have PS+, you can play the battle royale mode. Check out youtube vids for answers to all your questions. There is also the marketplace but that is a whole different subject. I am loving getting cards and completing missions and collecting different teams. I was franchise only with a little of RTTS myself but this year I decided to really get into DD after seeing conquest.

If you pulled those from logging in you're pretty lucky, but the overalls should tell you that's a good team. DD is just like ultimate team that's in every other game with a few cool ideas. If you wanted to put together a team of your favorite players this is the mode to do it. It's not really any real "benefits" though most of the people you face will be trash or trying to cheese, so if you're looking for sim style of play this ain't the mode for you.

So you got some of these by playing franchise mode?

I'm a big franchise guy as well & don't really play much VS online, but the benefit of DD to me is that it breaks things up & the conquest mode is a fun change of pace. Plus games are only 3 innings so it's an easy way to get a baseball fix if I don't have time for a full game.

Those are crazy pulls though / after game rewards, mine have been crap. Maybe 1 or 2 gold players, otherwise all my golds have been equipment. Maybe some sponsors or rituals.

I'm a big franchise guy as well. I have never touched any of these modes in any of the sports games...until I tried DD about a month ago. And let me tell you, I'm 100% hooked on this mode and it's all that I've played since.

First off, that's a REALLY good team for never having purchased any cards. Like, really good. You'd be able to compete with most teams right off the bat.

Also, you probably have a ton of stubs if you've never used them to purchase any packs or cards. I wouldn't really recommend buying packs, but it's fun as hell and extremely addicting. You can purchase and sell your players through the inventory menu, and that's probably what I would recommend doing. There's also different missions that you can do to earn better players and rewards.

You'll get some cheesers, but for the most part, I've had fun games. You can also play the CPU as well. I can't stress enough that I have never been a fan of playing online or these fantasy modes in the past, but after playing DD I can tell that this will be my preferred mode of choice in The Show and the other sports games going forward. It's just so fun.

Give it a shot. You may not like it, but it's definitely worth trying.

I was a franchise only guy until this year. I haven't even touched franchise yet. DD in 2016 a huge scavenger hunt. lots of fun and you can just play against the computer.
