The U-Turn: A Savannah State Dynasty
 ">Prologue I chose Savannah State to use for a number of reasons. I live near Savannah, Ga, And I have many relatives who attended the school and/or live in Savannah. Savannah State is also one of the five D-1 schools I've seen play in person. Savannah State's football program is at rock bottom right now in terms of both talent and financial support. It would be quite a feat to build this program up, as it just may be the hardest job college football has to offer. Besides, who doesn't love a team who wears the color orange?! I will run this dynasty along with my Ch2k8 legacy, and I will update both as much as I can, although updates may be slower during the school year. I will play on All-American on defense and either Varsity or AA for offense, although I will use some adjusted sliders that have been thoroughly tested and approved. |

The Savannah State Tigers, who are most famous for being blown out in absurd payout games, are going to join the Sun Belt conference for football in 2013. If the move is successful, SSU would be the 1st HBCU to last in the FBS and it is only the 2nd to try after FAMU attempted to transition in 2002. "Now you see why we've been playing all of these 'buy-a-win' games. We've been saving up for a potential move, while getting our players and coaches FBS experience", Savannah State AD Sterling Steward Jr. commented. The player part may be right, but the coaching part isn't, at least for the Head Coach. Former HC Steve Davenport has been fired, and new Head Coach AJ Carlisle, former D-II national champion head coach at Winston-Salem St, has none. But he has an extremely potent offensive system, which is something the Tigers desperately need. His up-tempo, power running offense out of the Spread/I-Form/Ace/Wildcat supplemented by the air raid set D-II records in both scoring and total yards. Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson has offered to pay for stadium expansion costs and any other financial needs the program may have. "I'm trying to make this happen," Benson stated. "I called up NC A&T, Alabama State, South Carolina State, Norfolk State, Bethune-Cookman, just about every HBCU I knew of. They all declined. SSU was the only one daring enough to try it. I did it because the HBCU experience is totally different with the awesome bands, passionate sororities and the great tailgating. It's a great atmosphere to be in. This needs to be brought to national attention, and my conference will be the first to do it."
