Operation Sports Fictional League?

Is there any interest from anyone here to play in a fictional 20 to 22-team league? I have never actually been a commissioner, but I have been playing OOTP since OOTP 10 and have played in numerous leagues such as Bench Jockey, Over the Mound, and Pennant Chase Baseball League. I can probably pick up a number of players from FOFC as well as the official OOTP message boards as well.

Re: Operation Sports Fictional League?

Any interest here? I can run the league if I can find around 12-14 members interested. I have myself and my brother, who would be down to join the league as well. And if I must, I can even combine this new OS league with another league I'm currently in.

I like the sound of "Operation Sports Baseball League" or OSBL.

Re: Operation Sports Fictional League?

OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES

- To maintain a functional team at all times through a minimum of one roster update once every 3 sims. Functional is defined as having full lineups, sufficient pitching staff for the upcoming schedule, and backup players adequate to ensure functionality in case of injuries.

- Absences greater than 3 consecutive sims requires prior notification of the Commissioners. The league is very understanding of such absences, as we all have busy lives and schedules, but we can only be understanding of a situation if we're aware of it.

- Website / forum participation is not required, but is greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all.

- All discussion pertaining to the league, regardless of medium (website, e-mail, MSN, etc.), is to be respectful at all times. Disagreements are inevitable, and discussion of them encouraged, but keep it civil. If the debate is not relevant to the league as a whole, take it to e-mail.

- Should an owner fail to meet these responsibilities, an e-mail will be sent to as a reminder and to confirm the owner's continued interest in the league. Failure to respond to the e-mail within 48 hours, or continued failure to meet the above responsibilities, will result in expulsion from the league.

Re: Operation Sports Fictional League?

BJHL Contract House Rules

The BJHL has a salary cap of $80 million, including all players under contract to a team regardless of their roster/level assignment. The cap does not change from year to year (we adjust league revenues to maintain financial equilibrium) but it is suspended during the offseason.
We've banned contract incentives (whether based on playing time or awards) completely, due to how easy it is to exploit the poor AI evaluation of them.
We've limited the value of any final option years (whether team, mutual or player options, and including vesting options) to no more than 25% over the average yearly salary of the guaranteed portion of the contract, for the same reason.
We've limited the maximum value of any contract year to be no larger than double the smallest contract year value.
Violations of the salary cap will incur a warning and if no change is made for the next sim the player with the highest salary on the team will be released into free agency.
Violations of the incentives rule will cause all incentives to be converted to guaranteed money. If this puts you in violation of the salary cap rule then you will need to make changes to avoid having someone released.
Violations of yearly values or options will result in the contract(s) being voided - the player will be released back to Free Agency - with the team responsible for $5M or 20% of the full value of the contract (including incentives), whichever is less

Re: Operation Sports Fictional League?

35 players at AAA might be a bit much. I'd prefer 30.
