New Xbox 4x more powerful than xbox one...how will this effect the UFC series?

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2016/05/2...-current-model

"The main concern for Scorpio is apparently its power, as Sony's PlayStation 4 has outperformed Xbox One in this way for a while. According to Polygon, "Microsoft is determined to end this narrative." Microsoft's current performance target for Scorpio is around 6 teraflops, the source said—quite a bit higher than PlayStation NEO's expected 4.14 teraflops. Scorpio is unlikely to be released before late 2017."

More powerful than playstation's new console as well apparently.

This can only be good news for the UFC series right? With all the lag problems, 30 fps etc

its not effecting the UFC serries that much. It will effect us, so that we have to buy a new console every 2 Years to play the new games. Itīs the Apple mentalety. Wanne be up to date? Then spend a ton of cash in new hardware.

If they think this business model will work they have amoyher thing coming. This is exactly what it takes to kill console gaming. Anyone with any sense will invest in a gaming pc as opposed to buying a new xbox

2018 sometime and I probably won't buy it for six months so thats at least 2 and a half years so it's not that bad really.

I know the neo's out next year but I guess you don't have to upgrade straight away right?

Well, not entirely true. From the early reports, it appears as if these consoles are going to be completely optional. And it makes sense, with PS4 being in the lead as far as sales go, they don't want to lose that position.
And Microsoft wouldn't want to jump ship either. It wouldn't be received very well, and people would be hesistant to buy their new console. It sounds like these are going to be focused on optional graphical upgrades on games, yet being playable on both consoles. Sort of like a PC, I guess. Now for EA UFC this is an interesting position because I think we can agree that they've already taken graphics over gameplay. I understand the approach but I don't favor it.

If they actually went for 60fps from the start, this would have put them in an excellent position. Through these new consoles, they would have still been able to showcase the amazing graphics of their game, while also satisfying the people hungry for incredible visuals. However, that is going to be a difficult selling point when that new X1 comes around, and if it is actually going to work as I expect it to, since this is all very early speculation.
Fortunately though, I think both Sony and Microsoft are going to throw out the details during E3. And that's only weeks away.

It's certainly not too late for EA UFC 3 to take advantage of these changes though. I actually think they're very important to take into consideration. If people are in it for the graphics, they'll likely own these more expensive consoles. But I think even though we all love this franchise, the fps decision is one that nobody in our community can ever get behind.

Re: New Xbox 4x more powerful than xbox one...how will this effect the UFC series?

There is no possible way they make these games with the newer consoles in mind. The market is already smaller because of the newer gen consoles. Making the game different for the newest consoles would be a waste of money. The market just won't be there. Many people won't be willing to buy the newer consoles because they are basically set up for 4K. Not that many actually have 4K because there just isn't enough programming. It is basically like when HDTVs were introduced. People who had money to burn buy them, even though they have very little content that it can actually use. If they don't build the games for this gen console, they would lose so many sales. That wouldn't be good since they already have a limited player base.

I know I'm not going to buy a PS4.5. I have a gaming PC. If I want better graphics, I just buy for PC. That isn't the case though. Graphics are great, but I would take BF4 on console over BF4 on PC any day. For two reasons. The consoles have a very different community for the game. The game already looks good enough on PS4. I have it on console and PC, but prefer to play it on console. Less chance for hackers as well. Almost every match, PunkBuster boots players for cheating. I'd rather not play like that. Actually seeing how many people try to cheat ruins the games.

ummm... why am I the only one who's sure it will drastically effect UFC 3 (60fps at 1080p with better graphics at least a little) along with every other game that will be released post the console upgrades?

I think we're supposed to be celebrating right now because for me, this means UFC 3 might be the perfect MMA game of all time
