Icon5 Will EA UFC 3 be 30fps or 60fps ?

When EA UFC 2 was coming out Brian Hayes announced that they determined that 30 fps with motion blur looks better than 60 fps. This is the first time I heard a game developer mention that, but it makes sense for fighting I guess (think of all the synchronizations when two opponents grapple, etc). Now that work has started on UFC 3 I wonder if they will support 60 fps perhaps with motion blur also? Remember there is a new Playstation coming out that EA didn't know about before UFC 2.

In an interview with GamingBolt, Creative Director Brian Hayes confirmed that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of EA Sports UFC 2 will run at 1080p/30fps with motion blur, since testing claims 60fps “doesn’t have a hugely beneficial impact.”

The game runs at 1080p, and renders at 30fps with motion blur…We’ve found that going to 60fps doesn’t have a hugely beneficial impact, and people in testing have told us that the game actually looks better at 30fps with motion blur.

Why is this even a question?

Because EA did internal testing and determined that 30 fps is better than 60fps for EA UFC 2. So I wanted to discuss it before they decide on 30 fps again for UFC 3. This is something they can't patch, so it has to be discussed now.

Its hardware limitations, not anything to so with 'deciding'.

The only way we will get 60fps is with a PC port.

This is not true. Brian Hayes said so himself, they had a 60fps version of EA UFC 2:

Re: Will EA UFC 3 be 30fps or 60fps ?

I am nearly 20 years in fighting community.
60fps is a absolute standard for fighting games.
Because after several days you are worried ONLY about the GAMEPLAY in fighting game not about the graphics, and 60 fps allow you much better to feel opponent's moves and react to them!
I hope that for PS NEO will be a patch for 60 fps, or we get a patch that alloow to choose between 1080p30fps or 720p60 fps (this graphic settings exist in Nioh demo for ex).
60 fps especially important for reading initial animation of moves - and as we know this is a skill that divide bad players from good players in EA Sports UFC.

WE NEED 60 FPS MORE than better graphics!

Game developers lie about things like that all the time. You won't get an optimal 60 fps on ufc 2 and you certainly won't on ufc 3 if they limit it to consoles whole improving graphics
