can anyone please confirm if there s a host disadvantage when other guy is lagging

I really wonder if i am just imagining this or what exactly is happening, but it seems for some time that i am somehow in disadvantage as host, and everything is delayed for me.
i just got submitted twice in row by some standup fighters and i was playing mixed martial artist with good ground/sub defense.
so first guy had 0 stamina (zero!!!) while i was at half stamina and somehow, my gates are slow as hell and i cant escape?!

other guy his choke submission was 51 , while my choke defense was 78, hi had like half stamina, i had like 60-65% stamina so again more than him, and again i couldn't escape his guillotine, which seems to be his default move, without any card, so like what the hell.

now when i made my jiu jiutsu guy and give him a lot of card and my submission skills went to like 80 choke, 90 joint sub, boxers without stamina their defense gates fly all over in insane speed, so unless it s just all my imagination and after hundreds and hundreds of games i cant figure out submission defense, logical conclusion is

i see their gates delayed, so they fly so fast and i have less time to react
and on other hand my input is delayed, so they can see me going into some direction before i can even see any progress on my tv screen ingame, which means they have more time to react

and also i am pretty sure they didn't have escape artist perk because i couldn't even get throught 1st sub progress sometimes and their gates went too fast , so this big difference is not making any sense

some goes for parries, denies etc.
i really want to know if this is happening to other people
my internet is like 29mbps download, 6mbps upload Comcast xfinity
all ports forwarded for xbox live

this thing is really killing me and i want to know where s problem

i know from other games that lag compensation mechanics used in games favours bad connections and laggers or even people tampers with their connections to get unfair advantage, i also know ea sports games suffers from lag online a lot

I'm playing people who think they have fast internet with speeds like that.

You can't blame this guy's Internet speed though. All previous mma games and other online games run fine but not this one?

Pretty sure it's the mechanics under the hood that cause the input lag. I can push the strike button on my controller and it literally takes 2 seconds or more sometimes for my character to strike on screen

I believe it's the grappling system. By all accounts, it works great offline. Throw latency into the mix, and the meters and gadgets start going haywire, much like a phonograph that is out of balance. It will start to "skip" much like when the arm trap or a denial begins repeating online. This usually happens to the red corner more often that not.

This just shows you have no idea what causes lag. His upload and download speeds are more than adequate for gaming.

Right i think all you need is 2mb download and 1 up for online gaming if i remember right lol..... This guys connection speed is more then enough. I feel sorry for big c if he spends money on the most expensive internet for no reason haha.

connection speeds are also reduced through ps4, I have no idea about xbox. His connection speeds are fine. Games don't need massive download or upload speeds. It could be a wifi issue or bandwidth issue on his network side though, so you can't rule that out completely.

I do have the same problem as the op. I am on a fios connection, which is really fast, but lately there have been issues in the late afternoon that effects my gaming and makes me lag. Last night I had the same problem in UT, I took a boxer down and couldn't deny transitions, he takes my back and chokes me out while I am at almost full stamina and he was completely drained. My freestyle wrestler has over 80 in submission defense and like 85 overall in ground. The gates were moving so slow.

Why should you feel sorry about stuff I want and pay for with my own hard earned money...

I don't mine paying for fast internet if it means I can download games like gta in a hour!

Please stop with trying to bring down ppl because you don't pay for your own stuff or you have slow internet and feel like talking crap because honestly ppl here don't know ****!
