How is this Rewarding?

The more I play this game, the more I am baffled by some of the design decisions this year.



How in the hell is this, in any sort of way, supposed to be a rewarding experience for the player?

A single button press? I am basically being given a free out. In past games this took some quick thinking and moderate amount of skill. Now they are just handing you the defensive plays on a platter, with a gigantic slow window for you to make up your mind. (You know just in case you didn't want to catch it?)

I didn't even have to lean or move in the correct direction either. In fact I was locked out from moving at all, which makes the play look awful like I am just falling over and catching it. This play didn't even look like a dive was required at all anyway, if I wasn't locked out of moving I probably could have quickly stepped over and snared it.

What is the thinking behind this design choice?

Am I supposed to feel skillful? Smart?

Is this something they thought would make the game look "cool" on a twitch stream, where the streamer can act excited while yelling loudly?

Same goes for Baserunning:



Am I supposed to feel quick-thinking and fast, that I was able to get back to the base, with a loud bullet-time alarm blaring every time a Pitcher tries a pick-off move?

What an absolute borefest RTTS is this year.

Turning it off does not prevent these Fielding or Baserunning events from happening.

It's a brand new feature that's going through its first year of testing. The fact that you are this upset about it is appalling. At least they're trying to make fielding a little more interesting, and allowing you to make exceptional plays without having to have the world's greatest reaction and coordination in playing video games to make.

I wait for the next patch. If there are no major changes to Rtts i will try MLBTS15. I'm a Rtts only player and 16 is a absolute no go! No result play, no manual catch button, automatic bullet time. My 1B constantly locks in a standing around "animation" because it took me longer than 0.5sec to decide to run to the base. 1B is a absolute mess!



The last version i played was 14 on the PS3 and i was a happy customer. Question:



Does 15 on the PS4 provide me a good classic Rtts experience?

Pretty sure you can turn it off its like Show Time Fielding or fielding style something along those lines, could have sworn I saw an option for it.

Yeah its Showtime Fielding, I turned it off in my RTTS. Same goes for Showtime Running.

Turning it off does not work for the fielding events. Well, it doesn't work for me anyway. I have it turned off and I'm still getting it for fielding events but I'm not getting it for base running events.
