Analog flick

Does anyone have specifics on how this works. I'm a zone hitter and I really like the feel and I've been making better contact, but I haven't been generating much power. I've noticed you can flick it inside or out, I'm assuming you want to do this with inside/outside pitches but I'm not entirely sure. Some confirmation would give me peace of mind

You pull back, and then push forward, for a power swing. Flicking up is a normal swing. Left/right is a contact swing.

No if you chose flick over stride, a power swing is pulling back and pushing the right stick forward.

OK great thanks for clearing that up for me, makes sense why I haven't been hitting for power then

Using a power swing doesn't guarantee a power hit. There's a section of the in-game Strategy guide that gives a decent explanation of when to use contact and power swings.

Just start up a game and hit the pause menu and you'll find the strategy guide there.

No I know, I'm used to using the 3 buttons so I have a good idea when to use each swing for each player I just didn't know the details with analog. Thanks for your help... and it's good to know about the strategy guide I've really mainly played online I didn't know this existed

Re: Analog flick

I recently switched to the flick method. I like it, just feels more authentic imo. Can get painful with excessive playing though...
