Defensive shifts broken

I had mentioned this about last year's game, and someone told me to set all my shifts before first pitch. This doesn't appear to work on this year's game. If I implement an extreme right shift before first pitch, and when that batter comes to bat I switch to a double play depth, it works fine. But if I switch back to extreme right his next at bat, the shortstop doesn't move. He and the 3rd baseman are almost on top of each other. Any ideas?
