New Matchmaker Takes Over at UFC Headquarters

AP - The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) introduced their new matchmaker today at a press conference in Las Vegas, NV. ezevthokie9 was announced as the replacement to retiring matchmaker Joe Silva, who will take an executive role in the company.

"I'm thrilled to have this job with the UFC. Joe [Silva] has laid down the groundwork in his years with the company and I look to build off success," ezevthokie9 stated during the press conference.

The move comes as a shock to the MMA community. ezevthokie9 has never had any experience in any capacity in MMA and is a relative unknown to UFC fans.

"We went off the board with this one, for sure! He's got a knack for the business and is what we all wanted in our eventual hire: a true fan of the sport! You guys will say what you want but we're confident in our hire and how it will effect our company for foreseeable future!" UFC President Dana White said after the press conference.

ezevthokie has plans to keep the fights the Silva signed before his departure date of March 15. These fights include the Fox Sports 1 event headlined by Ben Rothwell and Junior Dos Santos and UFC 199 that included middleweight and bantamweight title fights. This also gives ezevthokie9 the pressure of building UFC 200 from top to bottom.

In closing, ezevthokie discussed UFC 200. "I think the fans will like what we have in store [for UFC 200]. I've been talking to a lot of fighters who have expressed interest in the card and I have no doubt the fans and you guys [the media] will be very impressed with what we have in store!"

UFC Fight Night 1: Dos Santos vs. Rothwell Preview

#6 Junior Dos Santos (-150) vs. #4 Ben Rothwell (+125)
Since losing the UFC Heavyweight title to Cain Velasquez, JDS is 2-2 in the octagon. He's defeated Mark Hunt and current title challenger Stipe Miocic and lost to Velasquez a second time and Alistair Overeem. He is still very relevant in the title scene and could easily challenge for the title again in the near future with a win. Ben Rothwell has won four straight fights, finishing Brandon Vera, Alistair Overeem, Matt Mitrione and Josh Barnett. A win over JDS would propel Rothwell into the championship scene behind the injured Cain Velasquez. This match-up is easily a title eliminator bout with the winner challenging the Werdum/Miocic winner later in this year.

#10 Mark Hunt (-110) vs. #11 Frank Mir (+105)
The heavy-handed Hunt meets the submission-minded Mir. Hunt has lost 2 of his last 3 fights and looks to take out Mir and rebound to the top of the heavyweight division. Mir also looks to bounce back, having lost 5 of this last 7 outings. Both fighters have work to do to reenter the championship chase and the loser might not never have a title shot again.

#13 Neil Magny (-175) vs. #11 Hector Lombard(+150)
Magny has won 10 of his last 11 fights and 11 of his 14 fights in the UFC. He looks to crack the top 10 with a win over Lombard, who hasn't fought since January of 2015. Lombard is returning after a year suspension for PED use. Magny looks to break the glass ceiling that has been over him since entering the UFC.

#17 Bec Rawlings (+110) vs. #18 Seohee Ham (-130)
In a matchup that should have happened in May 2015, Rawlings and Ham will finally step in the octagon. Both women are coming off of victories following losses on the TUF finale that crowned the first Strawweight champion. Ham is clearly the more experienced of the two fighters and looks to climb the relatively new division.

#30 Chad Laprise (+300) vs. #18 Ross Pearson (-250)
In the most lopsided matchup of the evening, Ross Pearson looks to bounce back against Laprise. Pearson is 3-4 in his last 7 fights while Laprise looks to rebound from his first career loss. The veteran Pearson needs a win here to stay relevant in the lightweight division.

Re: UFC 2 Universe: The Best gets Better

UFC ANNOUNCES UFC 200 CARD FEATURING TWO CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHTS
Card also features UFC Legends returning to the Octagon

UFC President Dana White and new matchmaker ezevthokie9 announced possibly the biggest card of all time, UFC 200. The announcement was made during the UFC Fight Night Q and A session this afternoon.

The main event of UFC 200 will feature the highly anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo for the UFC Featherweight title. McGregor beat Aldo with a 13 second knockout at UFC 194. McGregor lost his most recent outing against Nate Diaz at UFC 196 in March. Aldo looks to avenge his only loss in the UFC after holding the title for over six years.

UFC 200 will also feature Welterweight champion Robbie Lawler against #1 contender Stephen Thompson. Lawler has successfully defended his title twice before and is 8-1 since returning to the UFC. Thompson has won his last six fights and has won Performance of the Night three times.

UFC 200 also features the return of Georges St-Pierre. GSP, the longest reigning welterweight champion in UFC history, will face Benson Henderson, who returns to the UFC.

UFC 200 will also have Anderson Silva face Gegard Mousasi and the debut of CM Punk against Mark Munoz.

Georges St-Pierre vs. Benson Henderson
Anderson Silva vs. Gegard Mousasi
