Whats the point of the 100 SCALE RATING system??

Not really sure the significance of the 0-100 Scale for player ratings and attributes in Madden. Reason being that most of the players seem to fall between the 70-99 range.

Maybe because of this, you dont see as much distinction, variety and separation between player styles & performances??...just a guess. (Unless the lack of variety is more related to deficiencies game play and animation system?)

However, back to my point, Im almost at the point that I would prefer to see them use a rating system similar to what Acclaim did with ALL Star Baseball. They used the letter grade system to rate all the player's attributes from A to F with pluses and minuses as well to cover a wider gamut. (A-,B, C+, etc)

I just find it so amusing that Madden uses the 100 point rating scale but you never see a player ranked in a significant rating attribute with 10 or 25, or even less than a 60. The only time you will see these really low numbers is when a Punter is rating in categories that shouldnt even be wasting valuable screen space like Throwing accuracy or impact blocking, ect.

I dunno...I just think the whole rating system is one big smoke and mirror monkey show and the joke is on us for buying into it.

I think the ratings should either be much more varied across the full number spectrum, or they should come up with another system for ratings...at for what is veiwable to the user

Re: Whats the point of the 100 SCALE RATING system??

Ratings have been complained about for years. There have been multiple examples of how ratings don't matter. Punters at left guard, etc. This year, we see top CBs getting blown away by 5th string WRs running the same route all day long.

It's been a long-standing issue that I doubt we'll ever see a solution to because the only people that notice are those at places like OS. The casual gamer isn't aware of these issues.

100% there are no elite players and mut everyone a 99 ! But back to cfm , i see no difference in players . Brady ,Brees and ARod don't feel to much different then most starters in 16! And jj Watt avg and so is miller ! No one cares about getting elite corners there just as good as avg ones ! bigger ratings difference , more traits ,Signature run style all much needed!

Ratings barley matter. All ratings in Madden are on steroids. EA has no idea how to rate players. Every starting QB is rated as a above average starter. You can't start a CFM and every team QB is solid.

I encourage anyone who thinks "ratings don't matter" in Madden NFL to:

A - watch the "Breaking Madden" series by Jon Bois, and
B - play a game with the FBGratings roster set, where the player ratings are spread out beyond what the stock roster provides

There's simply not an argument that "ratings don't matter" following doing either of those two things.

I do agree that Tiburon should philosophically change how they approach player ratings for the stock roster, however.

Reason # 76 madden needs to make all players ratings editable mid cfm, so we can at least use FBG ratings and find some formula to reduce rookie ratings so they don't overwhelm the league. If ea doesn't want to fix ratings at least allow the user to do so

If EA did that, I would create a step-by-step page for users to edit draft classes in the FBG style. People deserve that opportunity.

Re: Whats the point of the 100 SCALE RATING system??

The 0-100 scale works because many people, myself included, think of many things on that on that level. Such as grading in school, where 90+ is an A, 80+ is a B and so on, down to where anything below a 60 is a failing grade. The Madden OVR rating are really pretty similar to that. Its convenient and handy.
