100% of the dunks and 80% of the layups currently in the game need to be fully removed and replaced.

Need hundreds of new (and good) post animations as well.

I think where this series looks weird, apart from the inconsistency between great and terrible animations, is the different speeds of animations and 'drawn/edited' and ragdoll animations. They don't join and you often go from 100mph to slow motion and it just ruins it.

Re: mocapping for live 17

I actually like most of the dunks and quite a few of the layups. The dunks IMO are more consistent to real life in this game. Most of the games I watch guys just dunk the ball "nomally" when they get a chance. In the other game every dunk is a dunk contest dunk it seems like. While thats cool and all it just doesn't seem realistic. layups are a little more hit and miss.
The two areas that get real ugly for me are the hook shots or the big man jump back shots. The ones where they just turn around mid air and shoot straight up. They give me nightmares. Also alley oops are pretty gross too. The huge arcing passes are the real culprit more than the dunk however.

Dunk animations are there but that one dunk animation the game lacks is the one legged pull back tomahawk used by Lebron, Rudy Gay, Jeff Green in their prime athletically and Lavine and Westbrook now.

Re: mocapping for live 17

They need to mocap better block animations and add some more block animations. Blocking shots look ugly in this game. They also need to mocap different size players. I hate seeing everybody moving and doing the same animations regardless of size or athletic ability.

I think everyone agrees that, beyond infinite customization, this game will evolve into something great when it overhauls most of it's animations.

Agreed and to be honest, for me, it's great already. Was just playing dynasty and got into the rookie single player mode last week not really expecting to like it much and I absolutely love it. It has some issues with cpu subs and time out management but game play wise its incredible.
