Ridiculous 3PT Ratings of Historic Players

Not a major issue but 3 point ratings of some historic players are not even laughable. They create a huge imbalance between current/dynamic players ratings.
Evan Turner dynamic has 46 standing 3 rating. He's shooting 9/61 this year. Fair.

Guess what?
2004 Darvin Ham has 79
2006 Darius Miles has 80 standing 3.

Ham made 4 three pointers in his 7-8 year career. (1/2 that year.)
He literally has a 79 3 rating just because he shot 1 of 2.
Darius Miles was one of the worst shooters of his time and he has 22 total career threes in 131 attempts. Career 16 percent shooter. He was 8/23 in 2005-06 season.

I haven't seen Darius Miles or Darvin Ham hit a three pointer in my life. Even Miles wouldn't give himself an 80. Is this a joke or something? Because you become a good shooter with an 80 standing 3 rating. What the hell is wrong with 2k my team staff? Do they even know who Darius Miles is?

As i said earlier. This is not a major issue but it ain't hard to find other hilarious examples.

I understand the diamond hype/boost thing. At least it has minimal logic behind it. Or award winner collections etc. but these are standard historic players.

They have ty Lawson, jr smith, Luis scola, and Jamal Crawford rated as 96+ cards and THIS is your concern. This game is far from realistic, if you want realism go watch the real thing. 2k ruined this mode long ago.

Personally, I have no concern over these diamonds. They are so few and far between, it's not like everyone is running with them. I don't think these cards have "ruined" anything. I've yet to play against any of them. They don't effect Domination, and rarely show up in RTTP. The only time I worry about seeing them is in the Gauntlet, where someone likely re rolled their line up until they got one. Even then, usually the actual player is not that great (hence them trying so hard to get the diamond) and can be beaten with good play.

Are these cards unrealistic? Of course. Do they break the game for me? Not even close. If everyone had them, I might feel differently, but they're extremely rare so it's really no big deal.

while I am not defending 2k, I will say you have to look at more than just that number. Shot IQ and Consistency play a huge part. Someone bought this up about Harden/Lance Thomas.

you are going to have issues if you try and make Thomas, Ham, or Miles into 3pt scorers. they can hit the occasional but you are asking for it if you put them in RTTP and think they will be better than someone like Harden or even Lebron when it comes to scoring from deep. they may have some games where they go 3-3 but chances are if you take 10 shots with them they probably will only hit about 3 unless they are very hot and using Corner Specialist or something. Plus the higher the difficulty the less consistent they will be.

Well if you haven't made it to the first round of RTTP then you probably wouldn't see them. I see them all the time, and I absolutely see them very often in gauntlet. The thing is when 2k is releasing 1 or 2 of these diamonds every week then you are bound to see prices drop and more people with them. The cool part about this mode was to see what realistic matchups would be. Like what if the Knicks drafted steps curry or Kobe and Shaq stayed together? I mean the possibilities were endless.

Now with these new, totally unrealistic cards it threatens the integrity of the game. I mean it's an obvious cash grab by 2k, it's like they don't care about the community anymore and it's all about the Benjamin's. I mean I get that, but when do the ends justify the means? I've been dedicated to this mode since it came out, but this is the first year I have abandoned the mode almost entirely(stopped playing last year when they realeased the rubies). If you guys want these unrealistic cards than why not lobby for NBA street to come back? 2k is fun because it gives you an accurate potrayal of how players really played. These moment cards do not represent that. Hell, with any of those players normal cards you could go off for ridiculous stats. I've had games where I've scored 40 with Nikola pekovic or had a triple double with Stockton. Have the players make their own moments with these players, not 2k.

yeah, I wouldn't worry so much about Miles and Ham 3pt ratings.....you won't even see them in any RTTP lineups. you WILL face those Diamonds though. even great players got unrealistic boosts. I shut Hakeem down with Diamond Dirk in Gauntlet, blocked him every time, then afterwards looked up the stats of that card. that Dirk can hold his own against any Center in the game. he has defensive stats comparable to prime Noah, Chandler, Deandre, Dwight. that is really threatening the integrity of the game.

Yup. Diamond Dirk's block rating? Like. Really?

They need OP cards to be OP in their areas of greatness. There's no reason that Diamond JR smith should have elite finishing ability, or Dirk have Elite defensive stats.

and its hard for us as Sim ballers to not fall in love with some of these cards. I fell in love with that Dirk because he is waaaaaaaay better than Diamond Love. That J.R. Smith card has a flawless release. Crawford's handles along with his speed/quickness makes him impossible to contain. then you make these guys who are already offensively OP into above average defenders...which they have never been and you have effectively removed the realism.
