Anyone Else Tired Of Comic Book/Superhero Movies?

They're all blending together to me now. Seems like they all have to have a "dark" storyline element and now the big thing is characters that were allies fighting each other.

I understand why Hollywood is cranking these things out, but to me, I'd rather not watch anymore because I feel like they're all the same movie.

Am I the only one that's over this genre of movie?

Not really a big fan of that genre in general. Last one I saw was the first Avengers.

To a point I am, more so with Marvel because they churn out 2 every year but I'm still gonna watch anyway lol

I can't wait for all the new ones to come out.

There's always a dark storyline because despite the bright colors and action bubbles (POW!) comic book stories are always kinda dark. Somebody trying to save the world from someone trying to destroy it.

And as far as the allies fighting storylines go, Captain America: Civil War is the only one doing that, and it was a MASSIVE thing in the comics. In Batman vs Superman, they aren't allies in this story. It isn't like they've been working together for years and realize they don't agree on something. Each one is trying to bring down the other as an enemy.

I've gone way past tired of them. I'm not sure what it will take for the superhero movie train to break down but it better happen soon. It's already become a formula.

EDIT: However, I am looking forward to Deadpool because it completely breaks formula.

I am just glad they are taken seriously now. If they were all cheesy I would say maybe I was getting overexposed but they have become, for the most part, so quality.

Hollywood seems to be void of new ideas so at least they have decades upon decades of good material from the comics to draw from for stuff that is new to cinema at least.

A Suicide Squad 10-20 years ago would have been corny as hell. One of the things I am most impressed by with these new movies is how hard they try to be "legit"

Nope. And while DC does the whole dark and grim thing with all their projects, Marvel tends to have much more of an eclectic selection in their universe (the darkest probably being Cap 2 and their Netflix stuff). You should check out Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy if you are looking for some lighter super hero films that are very well done.

As for the former allies fighting I know of Civil War from Marvel and Batman vs. Superman from DC. I don't think one movie from each universe constitutes a trend or overkill. But these are all the opinions of a Marvel comic nerd.

YES. I've been saying this for at least 3-4 years now. I'm all comic-book'd out at this point. I haven't even seen any of the major blockbusters for the past few years. They do great business so there's no end in sight, but since I wasn't even that big of a comic book fan to begin with, I don't really feel compelled to go see these things any more. But I'm so far passed done with the comic book movies.
