Jerry's World - Dallas Cowboys CFM (Madden 16)

Cowboys Poised for Big Season

Captains Tony Romo and Jason Witten Hope to Lead America's Team to a Super Bowl in 2015.

Underachieving. That one powerful word defines the recent state of the Dallas Cowboys franchise under head coach Jason Garrett and owner Jerry Jones.

The Cowboys enter the 2015 season looking to finally achieve the potential that many know they can reach; a conference championship berth at the least.

The 'Boys, led by 34 year-old Tony Romo at Quarterback, look like they have one more shot with the veteran signal caller, and owner Jerry Jones agrees. Jones recently stated, "The rumors about Tony's age and longevity are true. We all, including him, believe we only have a year or two left. We think that's the ceiling for the team with him under center. We all also believe that the team constructed is enough to get us to Super Bowl Ring #6."

Can the Cowboys led by veteran Romo get it done? We will see as the next seasons unfold. It is more than obvious that the Cowboys control their own destiny.

Re: Jerry's World - Dallas Cowboys CFM (Madden 16)

Team Overview

THE QUARTERBACKS

Tony Romo is the obvious #1 in Dallas. The 13-year pro is coming off of a season on which he was placed on IR due to a broken left clavicle. Romo seems to be feeling well, saying, "This is the best my collarbone has felt since before I injured it. It feels strong. The season shouldn't take its toll on it too awfully." The two QB's backing up Romo are veteran Matt Cassell and Kellen Moore, the latter having had success in his collegiate career at Boise State.

THE BACKFIELD

Moving on to the backfield, the lucky man able to run behind this dominant offensive line most of the time is Darren McFadden, a free-agent acquisition who will split some carries with Lance Dunbar. Robert Turbin may see some action every now and then as well. The starting fullback will be Tyler Clutts.

THE RECEIVING CORPS

The marquee names in the Cowboy receiving corps and stable of tight ends are Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, but there are several more competent pass catchers at the disposal of QB Tony Romo. WRs Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley are poised to have increased targets this year with the departure of Demarco Murray, and Witten will have some relief with the help of Gavin Escobar and James Hanna.

THE OFFENSIVE LINE

Not a whole lot needs to be said about this group. The Cowboys boast arguably the best offensive line in football, headlined by LT Tyron Smith, LG Zack Martin, and C Travis Frederick. The unit also has RG Mackenzie Bernadeau and RT Doug Free, and undrafted rookie La'el Collins looks very good as well and can play both guard positions.

THE FRONT 7

The front 7 in Big D seems to be one of the best the team has seen in years. Led by troubled Greg Hardy, it could be one of the best in the NFL. Helping Hardy out are DTs Tyrone Crawford and Jeremy Mincy (normally a LE) and LE Demarcus Lawrence. The linebacking corps is led by All-Pro LB Sean Lee, as well as Rolando McClain and Anthony Gachkar. Kyle Wilber and Randy Gregory will help out as pass rushers as well as substitutes, as well as Anthony Hitchens.

THE SECONDARY

The weak point of this Cowboys team (besides the RB position) is in the defensive secondary. They are led by star CB Orlando Scandrick, but Brandon Carr and rookie first-rounder Byron Jones from Connecticut look underwhelming at the CB2 and CB3 spots. Morris Claiborne is also available. The safeties are J.J. Wilcox at FS and Captain Barry Church at strong safety.

SPECIAL TEAMS

The Special Teams are a very strong point in the Cowboys organization. Kicker Dan Bailey is one of the best in the NFL, converting close to NINETY PERCENT of field goals taken so far in his career. Punter Chris Jones sets things up well for his defense, and Kick/Punt Returner Lance Dunbar is very explosive once in the open field.

These are your 2015 Dallas Cowboys!

Game Preview: Giants @ Cowboys

Two NFC East rivals are set to face off in primetime at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, as the Cowboys play host to the Giants. Of course, in one of the two matchups between these teams last season, the star of Odell Beckham Jr. took off. He had that miraculous one-handed grab over Brandon Carr at the right pylon. Carr doesn't plan to let that happen again.

"I already told Coach (Garrett) that I want OBJ. He made me look bush league that night. I want my payback," said a clearly agitated Carr when asked about if he would want a matchup with the Giant wideout.

Eli Manning vs. Tony Romo. Odell Beckham Jr. vs. Dez Bryant. Two big matchups on Sunday's biggest stage. It's time for Sunday Night Football!

Re: Jerry's World - Dallas Cowboys CFM (Madden 16)

Romo Shines, Cowboys Win Game 1

If there was any doubt whatsoever about if Tony Romo could rebound from his broken clavicle and perform at the level we've seen for years, he silenced that doubt on Sunday night vs. the Giants.

In Sunday's NFL Game of the Week, Romo was one of the games brightest stars. He got started early and rode his confidence through the whole game.

The Cowboy signal caller started his dominant performance off early, as he completed 6 of 8 passes for 62 yards and capped off the drive with a 3 yard TD pass to Dez Bryant midway through the first quarter. It capped off a 12 play, 75 yard drive.

On the ensuing drive, Dallas safety Barry Church forced a fumble by TE Larry Donnell, but accidentally kicked it out of bounds. He was frustrated that he did miss the opportunity, because the next play was a 42 yard connection for a score between 2-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and Rueben Randle. The tie at 7-7 would be short lived, though, as the Cowboys would march down the field and Romo would connect with Dez Bryant in the middle of the endzone on a jump ball for a score. Dez started the game with 3 catches for 52 yards and 2 TD. It was 14-7 after one.

After the teams traded punts on the second quarter's first three possessions, the Cowboys were finally able to get the ball moving on the legs of Darren McFadden. They drove all the way to the five, but were forced to attempt a 21 yard FG, which Dan Bailey easily converted.

A major storyline coming into this game would be how the Cowboys handled Odell Beckham Jr. Its safe to say that had his number. OBJ only had one catch in the first half, and was constantly pestered by Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick in the secondary. It was a long first half for Beckham Jr.

The Cowboys put together another drive late in the half, and Romo threw up a ball intended for Cole Beasley. However, Romo did not see safety Bennett Jackson lurking nearby, and he would intercept Romo's would-be third TD pass in the end zone. Nothing would come of it though, as the Cwoboys would get the ball back and get into position for Dan Bailey to kick a 26 yard field goal as the first half expired.

In the first half, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant both had 5 catches, Cole Beasley had 4. Darren McFadden ran the ball 12 times for 60 yards. The Cowboys had 302 total yards of offense in the first half, and that was why they led 17-7 at the break.

The third quarter was a lackluster one of sorts. After the Cowboys forced a punt on the Giants first drive, they made it to the red zone, where Romo would fumble on a scramble and it would be recovered vs. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. However, nothing came of it, and the stagnant Giant offense stalled. After a couple more drives resulting in punts, Cowboy S Barry Church would intercept a pass over the middle intended for Victor Cruz, but it would only result in a missed 57 yard field goal by Dan Bailey.

Barry Church after his third quarter interception.

The ensuing drive would be more of the same. LB Rolando McClain intercepted Eli Manning on a pass right over the middle, and after a big reception by Terrance Williams, the following possession would result in a TD run by Darren McFadden, his first as a Cowboy. The Giants would answer with a long TD drive capped off by Rashad Jennings rushing in for a 14 yard touchdown, after his previous 12 carries amounted in just 12 yards. The Giants would attempt a 2 point conversion, but Rolando McClain would pick that off too and return it almost 100 yards for two points for Dallas. The next Cowboy drive would result in a 33 yard field goal for Bailey, and Daniel Fells would get a garbage time TD with 17 seconds left. The Cowboys won, 32-20.

Tony Romo: 28-38, 373 yards, 2 TD, INT
Eli Manning: 19-28, 288 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
Darren McFadden: 22 carries, 108 yards, TD
Rashad Jennings: 13 carries, 26 yards, TD
Jason Witten: 8 catches, 110 yards
Ruben Randle: 6 catches, 123 yards, TD
Dez Bryant: 5 catches, 64 yards, 2 TD
Cole Beasley: 5 catches, 97 yards
Odell Beckham Jr.: 5 catches, 74 yards
Larry Donnell: 5 catches, 71 yards, FUM
Terrance Williams: 4 catches, 65 yards
Bennett Jackson: 14 tackles, TFL, INT
Sean Lee: 8 tackles, TFL, .5 sack

Re: Jerry's World - Dallas Cowboys CFM (Madden 16)

Breaking: Cowboys Trade for Johnny Manziel

The successor to Tony Romo is here. Today, just days before the Cowboys Week 2 matchup against hated Philadelphia, the Cowboys cemented the future of their organization. They sent an unconditional 5th round pick and third-string QB Kellen Moore to the Browns for Johnny Manziel straight up. This has given a successor to Tony Romo.

Jerry Jones at his news conference said, "Johnny is not here to replace Tony right now. He is here as insurance. If something happens to Tony, we go with Johnny. When Tony retires, we go with Johnny. Theres no competition for the two for the remainder of this year."

Notice how he said 'remainder of this year.'

Re: Jerry's World - Dallas Cowboys CFM (Madden 16)

Game Preview: Dallas @ Philadelphia

Cowboys-Eagles. One of the most bitter rivalries in football. Its no secret that both teams hate each other, and this game is sure to be physical.

The main story line heading into Sunday's matchup is how will Demarco Murray do? The Eagles RB only ran the ball twice for 8 yards in Sunday's loss, and the reigning NFL rushing champion has an obvious chip on his shoulder when he hosts the team that didn't give him a contract extension to his liking.

"I felt disgraced. I know the team had money issues, but they chose Dez over me. All I did was lead the league in rushing... But whatever. We will see who gets the better of the matchup on Sunday."

This will be a physical game. One of the most physical in rivalry history.
