Upcoming in Japan

So does anyone have any predictions about this new years eve event in Japan.

Can Fedor make a decent return after his time off.

Here is a list of combatants for Rizin fighting days 1 and 2

Re: Upcoming in Japan

Personally I am hoping the Fedor wins and doesn't get beaten into oblivion by this unknown guy. Especially after all that has taken place regarding his return.

Re: Upcoming in Japan

Day 1 had a lot of finishes. If you search you can find videos for each fight either from matchtv or some are on YouTube.

Russian sites will be streaming again tonight, but some may be geo blocked. Spike will be showing all the HW tourney fights, Gabi fight, Fedor fight, and I think the Aoki fight.

May stay up and watch Rena fight since it is the first fight, no way I can watch the whole thing live.

I've been watching the card.

I am most interested in Gabi. Really want to see what she can do.

The Aoki fight yesterday was brutal.

Re: Upcoming in Japan

Well, I'm happy for Gabi, but I'm not sure that could have been a sloppier looking stand up fight. Wow.

That was a standard rules mma fight right? Surprised Gabi didn't go for any grappling/BJJ exchanges or am I missing something?

Her arms are ridiculous.

Re: Upcoming in Japan

Gabi Garcia was almost as big as Big John, damn.

She missed weight big time ... fight turned into open weight

Fight was standard Pride rules (no elbows to head) ... there was some confusion though on if it was some mix, but was standard at fight time

Gabi got hit, didn't like it, was fighting someone with wrestling background and a strong base. She has no wrestling for the take downs, so its hard to get it on the ground.

Striking was terrible, if you think Ronda has bad striking, that was probably the worst ever. Looked like she had never thrown a punch before.

She has no future because she is roided up and can't make any weight in the USA. She was actually dropping weight at some point recently and probably got off the juice, but looks like she got back on them. Rizen may be able to find some big girl looking for a pay check to fight, but there is nothing but these freak show fights for her unless she gets clean.

Fedor won, didn't look great, but didn't look bad. Hopefully he fights soon and against a real opponent.
