how not to help

My players keep leaving 3 point shooters to help and i have limit perimeter shooters on? This happens on pick and roll.

yes. play more offball D to look out for these 'overhelp' and adjust. when play onball D i tend to concentrate on going over or under the pick and cant really look out for the overhelp. Poe doesnt 'help' here. Lol

check out this guy Sam Pham on youtube. he has great tutorial on how to play defense.
I thought there was something wrong with the game defensively, but nope.
you have to know your players defensive tendencies, based on that you make the adjustments. also you have to know how your opponents play offensively.
but to answer your question- you would have to put the defense setting on said 3 point shooter on deny. do not give your player the option to do other things if hes a weak defender.
if you leave your settings on auto, based on the defenders defsive rating, he might do the wrong thibng all game. so give certain defenders specific tasks.
