Breaking News on the Dominic Johnson case:

The NCAA and SEC have made a ruling on the case in which Missouri was caught playing an illegible player in 3-4 games last season. The SEC officials requested to file their own sanctions on the university but after a week of discussions the NCAA made their own ruling and decided that this infraction was completely on the coach, not the player or the school. Dominic Johnson has graduated so he would not be punished by the NCAA anyway, but the NCAA did agree to suspend Coach Joker for the first 3 weeks of season. He will not be allowed on the sideline for any games played by Missouri during that period. The SEC officials discussed possible recruiting sanctions to the school but the NCAA saw things differently.

So he is on auto for the first three weeks? What about the appeal process?

Re: Missouri.Rivals.SEC

Missouri lucked out after Coach Rodriguez was suspended for the first 3 weeks of the season. All 3 games were out of conference and all 3 were against, "weaker" teams. The Tigers were able to survive the first 3 weeks going 3-0 as they set up for their coaches return.

But Week 4 was no cake-walk. Everyone was curious to see how the team would fair back under Rodriguez against a undefeated Alabama team. Not only were they facing a very good Alabama team they were facing them with Their starting QB James Banks out with an injury. RS Soph Will Henderson was put in at QB against the tough Alabama D and Rodriguez's return was not looking to good. As normal though Rodriguez and his Tigers did not disappoint in a defensive battle Mizzou walked away with the victory beating Alabama 10-6.

Mizzou was given a bye week in week 5 that was well needed as it allowed QB Banks to recover from his injury after sitting out the week before.

Week 6 The Tigers found themselves sitting at #4 in the polls and ready to give Vanderbilt a beat down. Vanderbilt's run option gave the Tigers defense fits before finally pulling away in a game where QB James Banks threw for 300+ yards while RB Travis Glover ran all over the defense for 300+ yards. After the game reporters asked Banks about if his injury was still ailing him. He responded with a smile saying he "felt nothing from the injury" but plans on playing smarter in the coming weeks.

Now the Tigers prepare for their week 7 match-up with the #1 ranked Bulldogs.
