MT and VC earning for poora55es

Just a few quick tips. Sorry if its redundant. Feel free to add to this. We all want legit ways to make some in-game cheddar! Share your method!

Most importantly, have some patience. That Carmelo or PG13 that youre frothing over can wait. Theres no need to spend more than 5k on (individual) players when youre just starting up MyTeam. Lots of great bargain Silvers and Golds. Dont forget about Bronze role players. Some of these guys are rebounding machines or 3pt shooters.

Make as many buckets as possible via assist.

Use the MyNBA2k app. For the most part the only time I buy a pack is when I earn enough VC thru the app to do so.

Earn player cards thru Mycareer and keep or flip for AH.

Learn the AH. Learn some of the valuable bronze and silver players. Check the AH often. Some people clearly just auction for quick sales. Some people dont pay attention to current market value. While there are too many cards priced way beyond their worth, there are also plenty that are priced way below their normal sale price. I made quite a bit early on just buy using my last 1000MT on Sim Bhullar to turn around and sell for 4000MT. That stuff adds up fast when youre itching for you next new player.

Domination and Gauntlet rewards are a fantastic way to get MT. Dom player packs frequently yield gold players. Gauntlet (after the bronze board and 25 wins) will get you lots of bums. Those bums go for a minimum of 750MT at the AH.

SELL CONTRACT CARDS. Im still baffled that people use them on Bronze and Silver players. You can sell contracts all day for 250MT (gold contracts will sell for 300MT). To buy 5 contracts for a Bronze thru the EDIT PLAYER menu, its 40MT. IIRC, Silvers are 100MT. Yeah. Stop that crap. Youre losing MT.

Commit to being a collector or commit to being a seller. There are great collection rewards, including a few rather large MT rewards. At least get yourself to 50 cards and get the 10000MT reward. Very important. 100 cards gets you a 15000MT reward. I had no problem hitting 50 early on in domination. I generally sold players and Consumables, and kept Team Items. IF YOU ARENT GOING TO USE A CONSUMABLE, SELL IT. Your collection tally is not affected. 250MT +250MT and so on can add up quick.

This one's a no-brainer, but never pay market value for a player. EVER. Repeating what I mentioned above, if you keep your eyes peeled, your patience will be rewarded.

Thanks for reading. Add to it. Ill edit this post if people have other solid methods.

Re: MT and VC earning for poora55es

I pretty much make a minimum of 100k mt per week by just flipping players. Find your own favorite players to flip and making MT becomes easy. I usually have about 6-8 favorite cards I like to search for and flip. Sometimes value is high sometimes low, but thats why you need more than just one card.

If you have a good feeling about a Dynamic card and its cheap, grab it. I have about 7-8 cards that will see significant boost when they get updated. Then their price will be quadruple at least what I invested.

Thats really my main means of making MT. What is just as important though is SAVING MT. I have a set amount that I am willing to pay for player cards, badges, shoes, etc....So whenever I see them for cheap I grab them. If I get too many in my collection, I sell the excess. I really cant believe people are paying 3500 plus for badges. I have about 7 amethysts and they are all fully badged. The key is to be patient.

Also if you buy the cheapest pack, you can always break even on it and sometimes even make a profit. I have no problem selling any bronze player for 750, that's half the pack price right there.

Very helpful insights. You're certainly right about those contract cards! Do people actually pay MT for them?

I am one of those silly people who is just a few cards short of 50. I can easily afford to buy 3 or 4 250MT items (maybe cheap playbooks or balls or something) to get that first collection bonus. I'll do it tonight!

For the PC auction house: It is really crazy, prices change all of the time, and amethyst players are 5x more expensive than on the consoles so you really have to play smart. Look for dynamic players and historic players - these sell very well if you know what you are selling. I usually dont snipe a lot, i just go to the auction house, check out what players auctions are going to end, see if the value is good and pick them up. I managed to resell about 5 cards in the past few days for a 15k MT profit with 5 more players on the auction block as we speak. The easiest way to snipe a player is the following:

If these is a dynamic player below 5k MT, pick him up, you can always resell him easily, the minimum for these cards are 5k MT. You can sell the ****ties dynamic for less than 5k MT in a moment.
Also, learn the historic players, whoever is going up for a lot of MT and which players are really frequent as domination rewards.
For the current players just be on the lookout for the best gold ones since the more ****ty ones are usually not really that valuable

Also, if you are on the PC, it is a difficult question whether to open pack. The more expensive ones are in 95% of time a loss so be careful. Open only maybe on TBT and FF, in hopes of getting an amethyst since they are really overpriced and easy money. Also, the new cards are always overpriced so if you pull a new card that is out that day sell it ASAP and pick it up later.

Also stock up on the players that play for the team that will be in the finals challenge, like the Spurs or the Heat, since their value will skyrocket when the challenges are out.

On PC, the cheapest packs are very profitable to open with MT.

Well done, this is a great MT/VC MyTeam for dummies article. If you're going for a player you will play with a lot, look out for a player with loads of badges. They're more expensive, but if you add up the price of perhaps a corner three, microwave, off/def crasher, dimer or unfazed badge they're often actually much cheaper.

Re: MT and VC earning for poora55es

sell players that arent in packs yet and buy them back cheaper later.

sell players that can be used in team specific challenges because the prices will go up then buy them back once prices go down. (I did really well with this last year)
