Free Throw is too difficult?

Hi,

I'm having a tons of trouble with Free-throw in this mode (Both domination and challenges).

I'm fine shooting FT in MyCareer in Superstar Sim with my PF even when the rating was 75. I seldom gets those Red Too Late. But in MyTeam (even for the first few Domination games), I constantly getting them even with players of good FT rating like Dell Curry (86). Even when I stop very very close to the middle white bar, a lot of times it's either a Green or a Red. It's worst when it's late in the game, and I constantly can only shoot around 50 ~ 60% FT even with players that has 100 Energy.

Is there tips or is it just how 2K16 is?

My only tip is to use square instead of the shot stick, and get used to certain players. Guys like Klay have a lightning fast release while centers take a lot longer to wind up their motion. I also find it better to be a bit early than a bit late. That way the ball at least makes it there.

The penalty does seem more severe in My Team compared to other modes.

Weird. FTs are definitely harder for me than in 2K15, though not problem-hard.

Guys who are bad free-throw shooters are BAD, this year. Last year, I could easily shoot 7/10 in a game with DJ, or even 8/10 or 9/10. This year, the game seems to arbitrarily decide that, unless you get a green release, any shot could end up a miss. So, this year, shooting 7/10 is about the BEST I could do with someone like DJ or Rondo.

Even with good free-throw shooters, getting a Slightly Early/Late shot can result in a miss, occasionally. It seems clear to me that the CPU enforces some degree of realistic FT% upon us.

All that said, for some reason, I can shoot FT's quite reliably with Dwight Howard.

Yeah DeAndre Jordan has an awful free throw rating. Whether slightly early or late, no guarantee it's going in. Amethyst Scottie Pippen has an awful free throw rating too. Just have to be mindful of who's going to the line. I'm picky of who I have drive to the basket now in MyTeam because it's so hard to knock down free throws with certain players if they get fouled.

I can understand that players with bad FT rating should not be able to shoot 70% ... But a rating of 80+ should not be shooting at 50 ~ 60 % FT, especially in late game ... Plus I can shoot perfectly well in MyCareer with much less rating ...

The *free throw difficulty is definitely modified game to game in *Domination

My first 10 - 15 games of domination had 0 red release free throws: now I have multiple free throw shooters getting red (guys with 80+ free throw rating).

What I find shady is that the difficulty is modified to be more strict on the user as you move up the ladder in Domination yet the difficulty modifier for payout remains the same.

*I don't have this degree of difficulty with free throws on Hall of Fame outside of My Team.
