Need some help

Hey guys,

I'm hoping to get some opinions on my sliders. I'm pretty much an exclusively offline player, with my favorite mode being Be A GM. I do a lot of slider tweaking prior to starting, and usually play around 40-50 test games. I'm definitely not one to judge performance on one game and I do like variance within games.

That said, I did all of my testing and started my GM mode recently. I play each and every one of my games. Currently, I'm 41 games into my first year with a record of 21-17-3. I've got 3.00 Goals For Per Game and 2.78 Goals Against Per Game. My goals against could likely be better, but I think that is due to my fairly weak goaltending tandem; I'm playing as EDM with Talbot (85) and Nilsson (82).

Overall, these seems like PRETTY decent numbers. My concern is that I'm scoring slightly too much. Every now and again, maybe once every 15 games or so, I score about 6 or 7 goals. Once this year, I scored 6+ three times in a row. In 41 games, I've been shut out only once and scored just 1 goal only twice.

What I'd like is maybe some suggestions from everyone on what I can do with my settings to improve my game play. I score most my goals on cross ice passes (I suppose this is realistic, as a lot of goals in the game are scored by forcing the goaltender to move). However, the AI (both mine and my team mates) frequelty leave an offensive player open.

Here are my settings, which are fairly similar to AlTito's, with human and CPU separated by a comma (Human, CPU):

Generally speaking, I get a lot of GREAT games. Shot totals range from low 20's to about 40 for both teams. I'd say typically I outshoot the computer by a few shots (however I do shoot a lot; throw it at the net any time I can), but about 40% of the time I'll be edged in shots and a few times I'll get crushed.

I tested Goalie Reaction Speed at 6 and got FANTASTIC results from the AI defence for both sides. Problem is, goalies are nearly unbeatable and I rarely had games with more than 2 goalies each side. I'm thinking, however, Goalie Reaction Speed may be tied somehow to AI defense... but that's just a guess.

Long story short, any ideas? I'd just like to score slightly less, and/or not have a number of games where I feel as though I can throw anything I want at the AI goalie and score. Again, this has only happened 4-5 times over the course of 41 games, but it is still concerning.

Thanks for any ideas/help you guys may have!
